It's the 2️⃣1️⃣st century 🔌
PA needs universal broadband
Not enough people talk about this (Dr. Oz sure doesn't)
Every community no matter how 🔴 or 🔵 deserves access to high-speed internet
@lindajeanlee@IHProgram FYI I’ve seen a lot of recommendations to NOT share your vaccination card on social media because of privacy - it has a lot of unique info on it.
One of my @PennGSE professors began the semester by saying “The most important thing right now is your wellbeing and your ability to care for others. This course should not be a source of additional stress for you.” She said it in asynch and synch class time. ❤️ #onlinelearning
To be human in a pandemic – A thread
Over the past 48 hours I heard from numerous clients, colleagues, and friends sharing similar messages of fatigue, stress, and burnout. “You don’t need to respond Sarah, I just need to share this…” is how many of those messages started. 1/
Student emailed me today that she is has symptoms of COVID-19 (no testing available), apologizing profusely for late assignment. Since this will start happening to many instructors, here's a script for an appropriate reply:

Not the bankers. Not the traders. Not the elite hedge fund managers.
It’s the nurses. The doctors. The delivery drivers. The carers. The porters. The teachers. The shelf stackers. The check out staff.
#COVID19
This is a bizarre time to be in #onlinelearning for myriad reasons explored well elsewhere. For everyone making the "pivot": I see you. I hope you get a taste of what is possible, that it is not too bitter, and that you feel you can come back for more once this crisis has passed

My school just "pivoted" to online. Here's the message I sent to students:
I'm here to support you however I can. Take care of yourself and your family first. Our class should not be your priority. Everything about this class is flexible. Whatever happens, we will work it out.
Folks transitioning to #onlinelearning in #HigherEd this week: consider how to frame expectations for students. Ground-up online classes are resource & time intensive to create. We may get there, but this semester we're talking continuity of instruction. A couple of suggestions:
