I’m sitting here right now outside this London pub, listening to an Englishman, an American and a Russian discussing the world’s issues, whilst a reggae band are starting playing inside. Proof that when you come to a pub, the whole world comes together and can sort the problems of the world out over a beer or two, without violence or war. So, I think all the world’s leaders should come down to the pub, have a drink and let’s get things sorted. Cheers 🍻
A dude sweeping up some food that his neighbor leaves out for squirrels because it's attracting bugs. Instead of having a civilized conversation, this black woman starts hitting him with a 2x4 Hacksaw Jim Duggan. This is why property values go down and fatigue goes up.
🚨 AMERICA IS BEING OVERRUN BY TICKS… 😳🕷️
I just found THIS tick crawling across my table in North Carolina.
Not in the woods.
Not hiking.
Not camping.
ON MY TABLE.
And if you live in NC, you already know the explosion this year has been INSANE. Ticks are everywhere right now - yards, pets, homes, furniture, even inside businesses.
Experts blame the mild winter and booming deer population… but it’s much worse than ever before.
People are reporting:
→ More tick bites than they’ve ever had
→ Dogs covered in them after minutes outside
→ Lyme disease skyrocketing
→ Lone Star ticks spreading meat allergies across the South
This doesn’t feel “normal” anymore.
Anyone else seeing a MASSIVE increase in ticks this year? 👀

Processed Meat Now Classified as Group 1 Carcinogen — The Evidence Is No Longer Being Debated
Processed meats have now been officially placed in the Group 1 carcinogen category by the International Agency for Research on Cancer, the same classification level used for substances with the strongest scientific evidence of cancer risk.
That includes everyday foods like bacon, ham, sausages, and hot dogs — items long embedded in daily diets, now tied most strongly to colorectal cancer in long-term studies.
Researchers point to the industrial processes behind them: curing, smoking, salting, and preservation methods that can form compounds such as nitrosamines, which may gradually damage DNA at the cellular level over time.
High-temperature cooking — grilling, frying, and charring — can add another layer of risk by producing additional carcinogenic byproducts.
Experts are careful to clarify the comparison: this does not mean processed meat carries the same immediate danger as smoking or asbestos exposure. But it does mean the scientific evidence linking it to cancer is considered conclusive and consistent.
The unsettling part for many is how ordinary it all is — these are not rare chemicals or industrial accidents, but foods sitting in grocery aisles and breakfast plates every day.
Health researchers continue to recommend reducing intake where possible, and shifting more often toward alternatives like fish, legumes, and other less processed protein sources.
For those who keep it in their diet, the guidance is simple but uncomfortable: less often, smaller amounts, and awareness that the risk is cumulative — not immediate, but persistent over time.

Lyme disease has afflicted 15% of residents in Nantucket, Massachusetts. The tick-borne illness is found primarily in the Northeast, but it’s spreading across the U.S. https://t.co/LdPVyHU6hu
A lot of Americans remember Sears as a dying store in a half-empty mall.
That’s not what Sears was.
Sears was how American factories entered ordinary houses. Kenmore in the kitchen. Craftsman in the garage. DieHard under the hood. Coldspot humming in the corner. Lawn tractors in sheds. Socket sets in drawers that nobody was allowed to lose.
It was basements, workbenches, catalogs, part numbers, repairmen, delivery trucks, credit accounts, and old men who could hear a washer struggling before it finally quit.
A kid could flip through the Wish Book and learn what adulthood looked like. Tools. Appliances. Work boots. School clothes. A bicycle. Sometimes even a whole house ordered by mail and built piece by piece after the materials came in by rail.
That was the part Sears understood. America was full of people trying to build stable lives with practical things.
Then the practical world got replaced by a disposable one. The catalogs vanished. The stores hollowed out. Manufacturing moved overseas. Repair got expensive. Replacement got cheap. The people who knew how everything worked got older, retired, or died, and a lot of what they knew went with them.
People call it the death of a department store.
I don’t.
Sears was one of the last national systems that still assumed ordinary Americans should know how to maintain the world around them instead of just replacing it. That’s the strange poverty nobody talks about now.
Not having fewer things. Having more than ever and understanding almost none of them.
Why? So many years have passed and we've seen so many fires, yet they're still totally unprepared. This government is utterly irresponsible and incompetent
While Karen Bass is worried about getting meth-heads new grills, the LAFD has 3 dozen LESS firefighters than we had when the Palisades Fire hit. Folks, you need to vote like your life depends on it, because it does.
