Paul then says this “hidden wisdom in a mystery” was predestined and if “the rulers of this age knew this wisdom” they would not have “crucified the Lord of Glory. 2:9 is then mentioned which is a reference to the gospel of Christ.
I’ve often heard 1 Corinthians 2:9 as a reference to heaven that God is preparing for us. Is this correct? I don’t think it is since the conversation of heaven is not the focus of the immediate context. God’s wisdom is the focus which, as stated in Ch. 1:24, is Christ.
With this presidential election I cannot help but think of Machiavelli’s the Prince. One seems to be portrayed as generous the other as mean. People seem to say they want the generous one. If Machiavelli is correct then I fear for what might be.

My thoughts at 10:15 PM: We know the thoughts of the religious authorities when Jesus ate with sinners & tax collectors. I wonder what were the thoughts of those who ate with Him. How many of them realized who He was? How many of the left their old way of life to follow Him?
Luke 19:1-10. We see Zacchaeus, we remember, by song, his stature, his occupation, his wealth, & even his location. The crowds sees? A Cheif-tax collector, a sinful man, someone who deserves to be complained about.
We see Zacchaeus, but who does Zacchaeus see? He sees Jesus.
@TheRightMelissa If that was the teacher trying to stop the girl, that teacher should be fired for not trying harder. How disgusting that no one was able to stop the girl as she just banged on the other girls head. I’m not one for violence, somebody should have done whatever it takes to sop it.
