Continuing on my quest to move my old blog to https://t.co/zlwvyM43A1, I’ve pinned a page describing a social media “policy” of sorts. https://t.co/shzR8SprYl
free growth strategy:
1. keep improving little by little
2. stay 100% user-supported
3. watch VC-backed companies gradually destroy their product and alienate their users
Folks that carry little notebooks to jot notes instead of using your phone, I’m curious: where do y’all carry your stuff? I typically try to carry as little as possible, but between wallet, glasses, keys, phone… where do I put the notebook & pen?
I am also working on the spiritual successor (can apps have spirits?) to Thought Detox. More to come on that, but I'll be digging into all of this a bit more in this week's newsletter.

Glitch project hosting was shut down on July 8th, which made me pretty sad. It tried so hard to bring back the best era of the web: a time where things were weird, where they were fun, where you could right-click > View Source in your browser and learn.

Apple: okay, but don’t expect it to work with our CI/CD pipelines!
This was supposed to be a maybe-too-subtle jab at how we’ve lost all of the delight and value of the open web, and every single reply I got pointed to using AI to get what I’m looking for.

Been trying to get to a point where I can run 5K, twice a week, using a training program from the NHS. Today's run was tough — lousy sleep and too much time away from running had me pooped by the halfway point.
Next run will be better!
