We are creating disaster risks at a much faster rate than we are reducing them. Not irreversible - but we will likely see a 40% increase in disasters from 2015-2030 without major changes in governance and financial systems.

More than a decade ago, I got to teach NSTP/CWTS . After all, it was the class that you get to include any topic as long as they fall under "civic welfare."
One of our goals was to solve/understand local issues. At that time, one obvious problem was overflowing trash bins.
