Let’s look at this image right here. Let’s look at body language.
MC and Valko are simply looking at each other.
MC’s arms and hands are relaxed. She’s holding her phone with her Hunter partner, Tara on the other end.
Valko is himself relaxed too while sporting an injury to his hand and his body language shows he isn’t going to make any sudden movements towards her.
MC is a hunter by profession. She takes on entities that are 5x bigger than Valko on a daily basis. She can handle herself and she has a whole lot of confidence, training, and strength to back that up.

If she were in any real danger, she would be tense and even hold herself in a self-defense position.
In all advertisement videos it is MC playfully poking, prodding, and teasing him.

In no way has she ever been in danger.

Looking at the first clip, this is one of the earliest interactions between Valko and MC, when they are not yet familiar with each other.

From a combat perspective, this scene establishes MC’s own capabilities.
As a Deepspace Hunter, she is trained in hand-to-hand combat, and we can see those skills clearly displayed.
She is able to stand her ground, defend herself, and even overpower Valko during their confrontation by taking him to the ground.
This scene highlights MC’s strength, competence, and agency: it is not a portrayal of a helpless character who is unable to protect herself.

In the second clip, we see a completely different dynamic.
MC’s body language is relaxed, and Valko is allowed into her personal space without signs of fear or discomfort. Their interaction is built around playful banter, and both characters engage comfortably with each other.
MC does not attempt to create distance or show that she feels threatened; instead, the scene suggests an existing level of comfort and familiarity between them.

When Valko later asks her to let him in because he is injured, MC chooses to allow him into her home.
This is further reinforced in later scenes, where she is shown preparing to treat his injured hand.
Their interactions continue to portray care, trust, and mutual consideration.

Because of this context, interpreting these scenes as Valko taking advantage of MC does not reflect what is actually shown on screen.
The story presents two characters who are both capable, who communicate with each other, and whose relationship develops through mutual choices and affection.

Reducing this interaction to something it does not depict misrepresents both the characters and the narrative.
It may also, even if unintentionally, diminish the seriousness of real-life situations involving genuine danger, coercion, and lack of consent.

Within the context of this fictional story, the scene is portraying two characters who willingly interact with each other and gradually build trust and affection.

I wasn't sure whether I should share this publicly.

Over the last few days, I've watched countless discussions, debates, and arguments. Somewhere along the way, I realized that I hadn't seen many people talking directly to the developers the artists, writers, programmers, musicians, translators, QA testers, and everyone else who poured years of their lives into creating Love and Deepspace.

So I wrote this letter.

It's simply a message of gratitude and encouragement from one player to the people whose work meant more to me than they will probably ever know.

Note: This letter is addressed to the developers and creators of Love and Deepspace, not to the company's management. Supporting the developers does not automatically mean agreeing with every decision made by the company.
