@spanglermt I’ve heard teaching that sometimes deception is lawful, and even the godly thing to do—the two examples I gave, as well as Joshua and Ai (Different scenario, as deception is required in war).
I’m curious how you parse those examples with a universal statement against deception.
@SiliconConley@rjhewitt3@tompawnbadil By the same principle, you’d have to say that all seminary educations and all theological works should be free, and pastors shouldn’t receive a salary.
Paying for the book is not so much the teaching/gift itself being sold, but the laborer being compensated.
Don’t forget that our Lord’s Day Worship services have been permanently rescheduled to 10am!
“¹Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. ²Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing. ³Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. ⁴Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. ⁵For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.” —Psalm 100 (KJV)
We’re excited to begin a new series this Sunday through the book of James.
We begin with a greeting to scattered saints from a servant who belongs to the Lord Jesus Christ. And that opening verse sets the whole direction: Christ is Lord; His church is His people; His people may be scattered, but they are not forsaken; and the life of faith must be a life of obedience flowing from belonging.
Don’t forget, our Lord’s Day worship services are now at 10am!
NEW SERVICE TIME
Starting this Sunday, June 14th, we will begin our Lord’s Day worship services at 10:00am.
We are incredibly thankful to God for these first 6+ months of being here in Littleton and trust that He will continue to bless our gathering as we begin meeting in the morning.
What's more, we are beginning a new series through James that we pray will be an encouragement to His people for years to come!

The Necessity of the Trinity
Trinity Sunday invites us to pause and consider not only what God has done in redemption, but who God is: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—eternal love and communion, never solitary, never in need. In Christ, by the Spirit, we are not merely forgiven at a distance but brought in—adopted, welcomed, and taught to cry, “Abba, Father.”

@TheJollyBrawler The Apostle Paul also once said—to a man who was just preaching his truth: “O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?”
(Acts 13:10)

My brand new album, "Long Days, Short Years," is now streaming everywhere!
I wrote these songs to help you cherish the glories God has woven into every one of your days—because they won't ever come again.
I hope you love it as much as I have loved making it.
At trial, the Rio Grande Presbytery (PCA) found Rev. Zachary Garris NOT GUILTY of Charge 1 regarding his comments on slavery from June 2024.
However, Garris was found GUILTY of Charge 2 for “unwholesome speech” per Ephesians 4:29, based on a 2023 interaction on X with Anthony Bradley.
The Presbytery has indefinitely suspended him.
Would That All the LORD's People Were Prophets
Pentecost isn’t an isolated “Acts 2 moment”—it’s been in the Bible’s bloodstream all along.
In Numbers 11, Moses is crushed under the burden of the people, and God answers by distributing the Spirit—not to exalt a structure, but to share the work and spread God’s presence. Even Eldad and Medad prophesy “in the camp,” reminding us the Spirit is not confined to official channels.
Moses’ prayer becomes prophecy: “Would God that all the LORD’s people were prophets…” And in Christ—through His death, resurrection, and ascension—that prayer is answered. The Spirit is poured out on all God’s people, and the nations are gathered as Babel is undone.
A warning remains: to crave “Egypt” over the bread from heaven is a road to graves. But the comfort is greater—Christ has given His Spirit, and the life of the Kingdom is meant to be carried into ordinary places, with reverence, faith, and confidence in God’s provision.
