Joe Garcia, the husband of Irma Garcia, one of two teachers shot and killed in Uvalde, TX on Tuesday, has reportedly suffered a fatal heart attack. Joe and Irma were high school sweethearts and married 24 years. They leave behind four children.
Horrible news: Fifteen have died in a shooting at Robb elementary school, according to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, who said there are 14 students and one teacher killed. The shooter is dead.

I know this is a national phenomenon, but it's truly wild how panicked, mean, and unruly the roads are out there. I live in one of the most pedestrian/bike friendly neighborhoods in the U.S., and yet it still feels like a battle to get my kid home from school without a car.
I'm all for efforts to reduce college debt, but the cause of the debt is the cost of a degree, which is - with some exceptions - way out of whack with the value. If we don't start forcing higher ed to engage in radical structural reform soon, we are all going bankrupt.
