Is there a technical term for the kind of recency bias that leads students to accuse you of ruining their GPA just because yours is the course they just earned a C in? Asking for a friend.
Oh who am I kidding? I have no friends.
Or perhaps I lack the right kind of public fucking outreach to understand what it takes to be a scholar who writes for a broad audience. Yeah, that must be it. Peace out motherfuckers.
A President of the AHA whose best loved book is a disease history built off the results of a single scientific paper that itself used a problematic molecular clock methodology should really refrain from shitting on their students' use of "ontology." Just sayin'.
I read in another thread that he has a rep as an unsparing critic. Funny how the guy whose rep is built on some fantastic luck decides to be unsparing in his criticism of others' work. There's a moral somewhere in that story, but fucked if I'm smart enough to see it.
TFW a student who has been doing solid work all semester lays a giant egg on the final. It was a takehome. The student turned it in two days early. It was awful. Why do that to yourself?
No, my little flake, I have not cancelled the final. But your inquiries are important to us. Please hold for a customer service representative. Current wait time is approximately 20 years.
My favorite comments on the site that shall not be named are the ones that clearly demonstrate that the only sessions the writer showed up for were the ones immediately preceding an exam. It's true, if that's all you saw, the class probably did suck pretty hard for you.
There are a select few students for whom an F fails to capture the full scope of their idiocy. There should be a way of flagging those students. I feel strongly about this.
