These “ethnic Russians” invading Ukraine are seriously confusing me.
I was told this was all about defending Russian speakers, traditional values and saving civilisation.
Are these the conservative Russian values I keep hearing about?
😁 The Kremlin is reportedly seriously concerned that Putin could end up sharing Ali Khamenei’s fate
According to the Financial Times, citing informed sources, Russian security services temporarily shut down a surveillance camera network used to protect Vladimir Putin and his inner circle after Israeli intelligence allegedly tracked and eliminated Khamenei.
The newspaper reports that the system was only brought back online after being completely disconnected from the internet and thoroughly checked for vulnerabilities.
At the same time, a Ukrainian hacker told the FT that cameras across Moscow — including those around the Kremlin — are still operating and are regularly being hacked.
Don't you think it's about time these two met? 😏
I'm seeing Iranians inside Iran tweeting that their biggest fear now is the probable Trump Truth Social Post where he writes that he "spoke to Bibi and Mojtaba, two great and respected leaders, and both sides have agreed to stop shooting".
From Angela Davis to Candace Owens: How Russia Projects Influence Through Western Voices
Link to the full analysis in comments.
Attorney @ShorrTirza, a researcher at the Jerusalem Center for Security and Foreign Affairs, argues that American commentator Candace Owens’ visit to Russia and her participation in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum reflect a longstanding pattern of Russian influence operations. According to Shorr, the Kremlin continues to leverage prominent Western figures to deepen domestic divisions, undermine confidence in Western institutions, and promote the perception that the United States is a primary source of global instability.
Shorr draws a connection between the Soviet Union’s support campaign for Angela Davis in the 1970s and Russia’s cultivation of modern-day influencers. She cites former KGB defector Stanislav Levchenko, who said: “To be for America is to be for war; to be for the Soviets is to be for peace.” In Shorr’s view, the objective remains unchanged: “internal erosion as a lever for external advantage.” She argues that these trends could also harm Israel by weakening the U.S.-Israel strategic alliance and contributing to growing polarization and antisemitism across the West.
180 degrees U-turn from 2023 till now. But better this way than the other way around. We should not judge people that found back on the path of the right side of history. Keep on going calling out the Russian 🇷🇺 assets of the Woke Reich in the U.S. 🇺🇸. Appreciated @LauraLoomer.
Yeah. This week it hit me hard just how much Russian propaganda we have been subjected to on the right for the last 5 years.
Especially as it pertains to the religious divide and the absolute gaslighting we get from right wing influencers who use religion as a shield to be terrible people.
Right wing podcasters will use their religion to shame others while they take money from communist and Islamic regimes that slaughter Christians and use anti-Semitism as a currency.
Now I see it’s being weaponized to usher in communism and Islamism and it’s really being directed by Iran, Russia, China and Qatar.
It freaks me out to see how many people I’ve known for years who are involved in this opp and how their minds have been warped.
It truly is propaganda and I should have detected this much sooner.
The left wasn’t entirely wrong when they called some people Russian puppets. Just like the right isn’t wrong when they call some people agents of the Chinese communists and Islamists.
Now I’m just wondering how long some of these people I’ve known for years have been activated as foreign agents and who their handlers are.
I’ve come to really dislike a lot of people I thought I liked years ago over what I’ve learned about them and their ties to certain foreign interests meant to destabilize the West while they pretended to be the biggest defenders of the West.
Putin’s aide confirmed that he doesn’t use his brain
A Tarantino-style exchange took place between Ushakov (a negotiator and aide to the dictator) and propagandist Zarubin.
Zarubin:
— “Sometimes I turn my brain off, but you can’t afford to.”
Ushakov:
— “Why not? I can too. It doesn’t work at all anyway. Why even turn it on?”
