We invented things. We built things. We traded. We created industries. We produced scientists, engineers, writers, entrepreneurs and ideas that changed the world.

Yet somehow, patriotism is treated with suspicion, ambition is taxed, enterprise is buried in bureaucracy and national confidence is constantly chipped away at.

And for what?

What exactly are we supposed to be replacing it with?

Because destroying the foundations of a successful country is easy.

Building something better afterwards is the bit Westminster never seems able to explain.

Police have released an image of a man they are looking to identify following an attempted rape on a London Tube on Saturday night.

The attack happened on a Bakerloo line train at around 11.40pm on July 11, according to British Transport Police.

The beast reportedly approached a lone woman on the train between Waterloo and Lambeth North station.

He exposed himself to her before dragging her to the floor and trying to rape her!
