I hear of experiences like this so often. What are white trainers doing to address the harm that minoritised folk experience when faced with whiteness in training? What are white trainers doing to ensure they are addressing their own whiteness and recognising racism in training?

@aclientfirst My response tends to be along the lines of, "I haven't contracted with my clients to discuss material in this setting, but I'd be happy to roleplay a scenario for you to show my experience". It's shocking how often interviewers will insist on real examples. Huge red flag for me.

Psychiatrists invoke "not all psychiatrists" a lot but they need a collective response to this kind of behaviour and stigmatising attitude being repeatedly evident in their profession. If you are part of the profession you need to be part of the solution.

@aclientfirst If I stop and think, I often find the things I dont like to have a lot of value. If people can't learn from something that challenges them, then that's not on you. It is unequivocally on the reader. You have made me stop and think quite a few times. I am very grateful for that 🙏

The IAPT service is not prepared to deal with someone who is bipolar. My local service has 2 basic types of therapy and if you don't have depression with a direct causation or anxiety, you either need to bend into that mould or you're out of luck.
