Let me help...

- If your trip dates are not confirmed and you're open with any dates then start off your search with Skyscanner as it shows you the lowest fare for A to B for the entire year / monthly. Then drill down on the month and choose your desired dates from the monthly calendar and check fares.

- Google Flights is also an excellent tool to check open needed flights from a particular airport to anywhere in the world. Best is you can check all class fares beased on you choice

- Once you have the dates then headover to momondo for deep search. Momondo doesn't allow open date searches hence step one to be done on Skyscanner

- Then visit the airlines website and search for the same dates to check fares. If the difference is < 5K etc just get it from airlines website over aggregators. In case of any issues you'll be better off with just dealing with one entity than two.

Additional Resources:

- If wanna go a step further and ready to search for cheapest flights from nearby airports and don't mind stopover etc then headover to https://t.co/eI6gHG4FKP

- How to use the above have explained here :
https://t.co/z7wIp5eC8x

(Have used the above extensively and saved good. Eg. Beijing to Tokyo was 19K something one way. But an airport Tianjin which is an hour away flight was for just Rs. 8K approx. Took the train and boarded from Tianjin)

Alerts:

- The best way to get alerted in case a deal comes on a flight you looking.
- Keep multiple alerts + also suggest to get a new email id for the alerts so none are missed
- Google Flights and Skyscanner have a robust system for the same.
- Hopper App is also nice to set alerts + also shows probability of the flight fare coming down etc. They do the same with old data points etc but is somewhat helpful.

Some things to know:

- Don't go with any unknown aggregator for that extra benefits. Some of them didn't even have a call center to connect in case of any issues + email support etc is pathetic
- Always double check details before booking. Change / Edit name etc is costly
- If you have just first or last name don't assume you need to add FNU/LNU or same name repeated etc and book the flight. Each airlines has its own set of rules. Check and proceed.

Hope these help. Safe Travels !!
