Looking forward to this week’s #PrimarySTEMChat with @ianfairhurst exploring the endless possibilities that virtual environments offer when exhibiting student STEM learning.
It’s a #PrimarySTEMChat week! Join us & guest host @ianfairhurst on Thursday to chat ‘Showcasing #STEM Learning in Virtual Environments’ - everyone is welcome.
@FiMorrison2@ianfairhurst@tinkercad Our Year 3 boys were tasked with redesigning a space or product to make it more inclusive and accessible - this tied in nicely with our ‘Empathy STEAM’ approach. I’ll find some screenshots and photos of 3D printed projects and PM them to you 👍
@ianfairhurst@FiMorrison2@tinkercad Hey Fi, Sorry for the late reply - I’ve been a bit slack on Twitter lately! We’ve had great success with TinkerCAD projects and 3D printing, particularly with Years 2 & 3. Our Year 2 boys designed sustainable packaging solutions to combat single-use plastics.
The perfect project for a cold, rainy weekend! This DIY speaker kit from @lbhq has been a heap of fun to build. It even features an LED sound meter which creates a cool effect through the transparent case when in a dark room. #diy#electronics#maker

This 3D printed robotic arm by @daghizmo on @thingiverse is a fantastic project for students to explore automation with #microbit or #arduino. It’s easy to print and assemble and uses widely available SG90 servos. #edtech#STEM#3dprinting#robotics
Experimenting with @microbit_edu and @blynk_app to create #IoT devices for upcoming student projects. The ESP8266 WiFi module opens a world of potential for #microbit projects. Full guide coming soon! #STEM#aussieED
I can’t wait for the day that #3Dprinting becomes more affordable and fast enough to print everyday objects like these at home in a matter of minutes! It’ll certainly save me a lot of trips to the hardware store! #prototyping#creativity#diy
Tinkercad's Making at Home is full of common household supplies. Use it for prototyping or documenting designs that can be made from everyday things. Learn more: https://t.co/5zfcOQitIT
So many great ideas from the #PrimarySTEMChat tonight! How lucky are we to be part of such an amazing community of educators! Well done to @ianfairhurst for being such a great host! #STEM
