It's just two days to go until our #Orchestra season opens. The musicians are back in the Hall rehearsing, with a mighty ten cellists, the number needed for #Mahler’s First Symphony on opening night. Welcome everyone! Tickets available here https://t.co/dzFp23v49J

Please sign this petition! Without attending the City of Belfast School of Music on Saturday mornings for most of my childhood I don’t think I’d be pursuing music as a career now. Afforded me my first experiences of orchestral playing which enthralled me from the beginning!
I’m utterly sick of music and especially music education being seen as an easy target for cuts. It’s not, and such acts are foolhardy and harmful. Save the City of Belfast School of Music - Sign the Petition! https://t.co/7xOZTa3mNq via @UKChange
I have called for a debate in Parliament on the appalling decision to axe @BBCSingers & cut 20% of @BBCSO, @BBCCO & @BBCPhilharmonic jobs.
This will have devastating consequences for the musicians affected & for the sector
Now is the time to be speaking up for classical music.
We are back in Glasgow tonight with Il trittico! 'Magnificent' singers that 'shine', a design that 'creates a cinematic intensity' & 'the orchestra paint the kaleidoscopic colours of Puccini’s three scores vividly' what's not to love?! ⭐⭐⭐⭐ @guardian

Following a vibrant Rhinegold at @E_N_O, conductor Martyn Brabbins makes an impassioned plea:
“If we follow the implications of what the Arts Council have asked us to do, what you heard and saw tonight will be in massive jeopardy. . . .
“Do everything you can to support us.”
Parliamentarians, artists and arts administrators have come together to raise with the new Culture Secretary our deep concern over Arts Council England’s decision to remove a number of centres of artistic excellence, like @E_N_O, from its 2023-26 Investment Programme.
