Think for the time being I won't be active on this site. I'll be updating y infor for people who might be looking for me and keeping an eye on the account but..... nah.
@jroberts1324 I think there are two ways to use the word. If it's the noun I usually assume its closer to eldritch or existental horror (Southern gothic, Cat owner gothic etc) if it's a descriptor I expect edginess, gloom and romance themes (Gothic Romance, Gothic fantasy etc)
@justin_author I'm exeptionally terrible at titles. My short story collections all contain the word Things (Things to Read While Waiting, Queer Little Things) poetry books are single words with postscripts (Home: A Poetry Memoir, Friendship: And Other Fairytales)
@BorisSlocum I posit I am technically Shroedinger's writer until you read this. I both exist having written it. And do not exist as you have not read it. There for my best proof of being real is you.
Unless this is about bots. In which case... I'm too convoluted?
My bestie used my nature agsinst me. And now I have until the 30th to write a #poetry book. I'm in the middle and I as usual have no idea where the words come from. But boy are they coming!
@AuthorBWalters It's an adaptation of the 12 dancing princesses. I am mildly exhausted at the need to characterize them all. So probably like 4 will be notable outside the twin MCs.
@AuthorBWalters Urielle. She technically does already have a kingdom but it's the realm lost and forgotten things. She would not enjoy ruling a proper anything.
@mikedolanny Sitting down to read the first Witcher book finally and adding The King's Damoselle by Vera Chapman to my TBR list. And possibly the rest of that series.
@AuthorBWalters I've been pretty fascinated by the development of the characters in this series honestly. I have ideas about where the story is going but then they throw me for a loop. A prince in the series decided he was gay and was going to marry the hero. He's got 12 sisters so 🤷♀️
@DailywriterQ Scrapped no. Set firmly on the backburner for a time that may or may not ever come, yes. I also keep a log of intetesting tidbits I have learned that could be useful in writing and ideas that don't quite suit the story I'm writing.
@authorcfturner Editing is way harder than writing. Don't beat yourself up over stalling out. Recharge your batteries (I'm a fan of a good different genre media binge) and come back refreshed.
@Stacey_Dighton Everything from two sentence stories to novels. However long the story needs to be. My random hodgepodge short story collections are usually arranged by size.
@DarlingAxe Make the reader immediately question what is going on while grounding them in the moment. A novella of mine starts with graphic self harm and disassociation, for the right readers, this pins them into the story and keeps them there. Content warnings are in place of course.
