A very interesting change in the documentation. Especially since many site owners don't even have those properties set up in GSC. I always recommend having them set up for several reasons. Now Google is underscoring another reason, for domain name changes. I've seen some strange edge cases over the years with domain name changes... so making sure you cover everything is important.

From Google: "For domain migrations: If you're moving your site from one domain to another, make sure to submit Change of Address requests for all subdomains *and the www and non-www variants* of the old domain name (for example, from https://t.co/f84FWXiXJt, https://t.co/6zZBK7nuC0, and https://t.co/MMl3fBrIWy to https://t.co/3gYnsZ0T1F), even if you're not actively using these variants. Ensure that you have all of these variants verified in Search Console."

@denohawari I think the biggest misconception right now is treating ChatGPT like Google circa 2015.
Yes, community mentions matter.
Yes, Reddit visibility matters.
But there isn't an "exact format" that guarantees citations.
The brands winning in AI search are usually the ones already invest
