Folks, I have been buying way too many comics. I’m going to be giving away 50 issues. Bagged and boarded. Some good for your classroom, some not.
I’ll be shipping out 5 packs of 10. Winners chosen next Sunday. One entry for a like, one for a RT of this tweet. Tell your friends!
One of the keys to helping students become independent learners -- that is, answering their own questions, using their resources to solve problems, etc -- is to create conditions in your classroom where the only possibility is independent learning.
I’m hearing from many parents about how teachers are performing heroically in difficult and scary times to provide comfort, humor, empathy, and instruction. Teachers are always superheroes. Now they seem to have even another gear of awesomeness. They are the best of #WhatUnitesUs
I'm big on challenging ourselves. But this year so far has been really challenging.

Making things simple is really hard until you get there.
Many of us are drowning in that difficult work right now.
Press on, though. Keep pushing for an understanding of what your core tasks are as a teacher this year, what your Everest is.
It's hard, but it's necessary.

Unlike so many people who had that adult that made the difference, I didn’t really have one.
So I decided to become one.
Sometimes I fail.
But even when I fail, I fail because I advocate for teachers and for kids.
And I’m okay with that.
@SarahCal2012 and @KevinRKirkwood1 being brilliant and inspirational while instructing on engaging reluctant writers. Thank you for your hard work and original thought! #rswriters18
