New labour laws are coming into effect from 21 November 2025, and they will change how your salary is calculated.

Right now, if your monthly CTC is ₹1,00,000 and your basic salary is ₹25,000, your PF is calculated as 12% of that basic, which comes to ₹3,000. After this deduction, your in-hand salary is around 97,000.

But under the new rule, your basic salary must be 50% of your CTC, so it will increase to ₹50,000. And since PF is calculated on basic salary, your PF contribution will also increase to 12% of ₹50,000, which is ₹6,000.

This means your in-hand salary will reduce from ₹97,000 to around ₹94,000.

CBDT lawyer informs the HC that the Board is studying Rajasthan and Karnataka HC orders directing CBDT to extend Tax Audit due date by 30 days; CBDT is yet to take final call and is likely to consider the same today;
