No, Dinesh — my ancestors were simple farmers who had no caste advantage. They toiled in their fields, reared cattle, and raised families on their land.

Their lives were turned upside down when they told the Portuguese to buzz off, because the fairy tales the Portuguese brought to them about a “loving God,” who would torture people eternally in hell if they didn’t accept him, made no sense to them. They had their own, you see?

I know you have defended the barbaric Goan Inquisition in the past. But if people truly converted willingly, as you claim in your post, the Inquisition wouldn’t have been necessary. Perhaps you are ignorant of history or blinded by religious zeal.

Still, we must look at history dispassionately so that atrocities like the Inquisition are never repeated. I hope you keep an open mind and study history honestly. If you’d like, I’m willing to organize a discussion with experts so we can have a free and open debate on this topic.
