A person arrived at the railway station to see off his family members and entered the premises after purchasing a valid platform ticket. Everything was normal at the time of entry, and he was within the rules of the station.
However, the situation changed when the train got delayed by nearly two hours. Because of this unexpected delay, the time limit linked to his platform ticket had already expired by the time a Ticket Examiner checked it.
When the checking took place, the Ticket Examiner issued him a penalty receipt for the expired ticket. The passenger strongly objected to this action, arguing that he should not be held responsible for the delay caused by the train itself. According to him, he had followed all the required rules while entering the station, and the delay was completely beyond his control.
The incident later raised a debate among people about fairness in such situations, where rules are applied strictly even when delays are caused by the railway system itself.
