Los fanáticos de las carreras de caballos y de la franquicia Umamusume: Pretty Derby saben que esta fecha es especialmente importante, ya que hace exactamente un año se comunicó el fallecimiento de Grass Wonder a sus 30 años debido a múltiples fallas orgánicas relacionadas con su avanzada edad.

Invicto desde su debut, Grass Wonder se convirtió en una de las grandes figuras de las carreras de caballos a finales de los años 90. Conquistó tres títulos consecutivos del Grand Prix y ganó el Asahi Hai Futurity Stakes estableciendo un tiempo récord, lo que lo consolidó como uno de los caballos de carreras más famosos de Japón.
