As Muslims in New York City and around the world mark the beginning of the Islamic New Year, Muharram calls us to reflect on the values of justice, compassion, and moral courage that guide us in our lives and our communities.
As we welcome this new year, may it renew our commitment to one another and to the work of building a city where every New Yorker can live with dignity and opportunity.
Hello! My name's Miranda, I'm the creator, writer, animator, and composer of the Indie animated series #AtlasandtheStars and #JamtheSuperheroDog!

I was heavily inspired by @LukaszBorges to try out modeling a robot Pomni after seeing his Jax!

Incredible artist, I LOVE this design!

I hate how gullible I am in my dreams. Someone is like "bro remember, you're the prince of frosting mountain?" And I'm like I forgot yeah of course I am, I'm such a fucking idiot
@8BitRay@snickerolli Yes! It rubbed me the wrong way. There was very clearly no saving Jax so wouldn't it have been better to let him have his epiphany after all that struggle to break through to him and to show us that it genuinely lands on you to seek change and connection if you want to live? idkk
Left side a Junior artist i hired 3years ago.
Right side a Junior artist who got hired 10 years ago(myself).
The issue is how rare junior positions are now and back then. (yes 10years ago i also had to apply to every single European company just to get 1 interview...)
You compete with ppl who work ridiculous hours.
Learn the basics, create good art (not phenomenal) and start build bridges with ppl in studios.
Connections will get you into a studio more likely then a crazy good portfolio.
I really do think that people forget that indie animation is a whole lot bigger than Glitch and SpindleHorse. There are hundreds to thousands of independent shows, studios, and projects that are out there making great things. Unfortunately a lot of them don't get the same- 1/4
I saw a post on Reddit that said that “The underlying purpose of AI is to allow wealth to access skill while removing from the skilled the ability to access wealth.” And I don’t think I’ve ever seen AI described so incisively.
I would really prefer advice from people in the industry who aren't 40 years old and got a job like 15+ years ago when doing it was Much easier and Just relied on being good at your job. The world isn't the way it was when you were younger and "working hard" is all you had to do.
