Dr. Martin Luther King understood that political freedom and economic freedom are inseparable.
"What good is having the right to sit at a lunch counter if you can't afford to buy a hamburger?" he famously asked.
Today, Dr. King’s dream is under unprecedented attack. FIGHT BACK.
Dolly Parton was a true American icon. First introduced to the world as a "little girl from up in East Tennessee," she became a global superstar.
Her career accolades included 11 Grammy awards, an Emmy, an honorary Oscar, and — my favorite — more than 300 million books sent to millions of children around the world through her Imagination Library. All at once she was kind, modest, and funny. With her music, her philanthropy, and her style, Dolly was one of one.
Doug and I send our prayers to her family, friends, and all those who have been touched by her magic. We will always love you, Dolly.
The news of Dolly Parton’s passing is devastating. I had the extraordinary experience of working with her on The Orville, and it was a joy to discover that she really was exactly the person we all hoped she was. Her kindness, generosity, and authenticity were evident from moment one, and the benign yet assured command she maintained over her empire was obvious from the genuine love and trust you could see from everyone who worked for her. The world is a dimmer place today without her.
These are challenging times, but we are not powerless.
If our votes did not matter, they would not be working overtime to make them harder to cast.
This November, we will show them what happens when millions of Americans turn out in our numbers.
Today, we pause to remember the brave men and women who have died serving the United States of America. As a WWII veteran himself, Stan knew that those who serve and have served are true superheroes.
"The definition of a hero is someone who is concerned about other people’s well-being, and will go out of his or her way to help them, even if there is no chance of a reward. That person who helps others simply because it should or must be done, and because it is the right thing to do, is indeed without a doubt, a real superhero.” - Stan Lee

🚨HOLY SMOKES: Trump spent weeks calling on Iranians to rise up and overthrow their government.
They didn’t.
Instead 8 million Americans rose up against his.
In 3,000 cities. On the same day.
The regime change he wanted happened in the wrong country’s streets.
Iran’s Foreign Minister said the people being killed are dying because Trump wants to have fun.
8 million Americans said they’re not having fun.
Philadelphia. Atlanta. Dallas. DC. San Francisco. New York. London. Tel Aviv. Scotland. San Diego.
The uprising came home.
