Animal Friends Shelter

Destroyed shelter. Displaced family. Still rescuing every soul we can🥀🐾
Sharing real moments from Gaza with our rescued cats.
GFM:

[Animal Friends Shelter @AnimalFriendsAF]

This report was prepared and published by the international news agency, @10NewsFirst, to inform the whole world, "Who are we AFS's shelter". We thank them for their constructive efforts, and we INVITE everyone to watch the report and share it.

[10 News @10NewsAU]

Two brothers are risking their lives to protect a cat shelter in northern Gaza City | @AnimalFriendsAF

Tamer Skaik, 37, and 36-year-old Samer Skaik have refused to abandon their cats and move south following a warning from Israel to evacuate the area late last week.

"[I want to make a] pledge in front of the whole world to stay with our cats and to continue taking care of them, and either we all live or our fate is death," the brothers told 10 News First.

With no reprieve in sight, the Animal Friends Shelter in Gaza is struggling to cope as Israel ramps up its offensive against Hamas.

💔 We never thought life would become this hard. We wake up every day carrying the same fears and worries, trying to get through another day and hold on to whatever little hope we have left. Even feeling safe for a while has become something we can only wish for.

Our families are going through this with us, and our cats are part of our families. They’ve been by our side through so much, and we’ve always tried to give them the care and love they deserve, even when things were difficult for us too. But lately, it’s been getting harder to afford enough food and the basic things we all need. 🐾❤️

With prices so high, essential supplies becoming harder to find, and the cold season approaching, we’re worried about how we’ll manage in the coming weeks. If you’re able to help us, we’d be truly grateful. Any support through the links below would mean so much to us. 🙏❤️🐾

At first glance, these tiny souls may not look like the cats people dream of adopting. Their fur has lost its shine, their little bodies have grown painfully light, and their eyes tell stories no animal should ever have to carry. Yet behind every tired face is a heart still holding on to trust, tenderness, and the hope of greeting another sunrise. 🐾

Thanks to your kindness, our families and cats have made it through so much. But with prices rising, basic necessities becoming harder to afford, and colder days setting in, keeping everyone fed and cared for has become an even greater struggle. The need for food grows as the weather turns colder, while our resources continue to fall short. We are deeply grateful to everyone who has stood beside us, but we still need your help to keep going.

Our families and these little souls deserve more than survival. If you can, please stand with us once more. 🙏🐾🤍

Watching our furs gather around their food bowls is part of our everyday life, and we want so much to keep it that way. 🐾🤍 But with food prices rising, the cold weather setting in, and support becoming scarcer by the day, keeping enough food and supplies for our AFS family is getting harder and harder. What we have is running low, and we’re struggling to keep up with even the most basic needs.

Our furs and families are one, and caring for them is part of our lives. We’re doing everything we can, but we can’t manage this alone. We’re deeply grateful to everyone who continues to stand by us, especially now, when every bit of support helps us put food on the table and in our cats’ bowls. Please help us keep going through these difficult days. 🤍🙏🐾🇵🇸

Dear friends, please don't let the gentle hearts you see here become another quiet tragedy no one notices. They didn't choose this life of hardship and hunger and uncertainty. Our families and the cats we look after just wait and trust and love, they only want to live one more day in safety. Lately it's been so hard to manage even that. Prices are so high, poverty is everywhere, winter nights are cold, and we live with worry that never really goes away, so just finding food and basic things has become a daily struggle.

We've reached the point where we honestly can't do it on our own anymore. However hard we try, love can't buy food and caring can't cover the basics we need to survive. Your past kindness is what kept us going and we will never forget it. Today I'm asking from the heart, please stand with us again and help us keep these innocent lives and our struggling families safe 🐾🙏

🐾💕 Even in the middle of all this devastation, life still finds a way to bloom. But these precious lives need more than a little moment of happiness to make it through each day.

Our families and the furs we care for are going through so much, and honestly, we are struggling to keep up. Even putting food on our tables and keeping our cats’ bowls full has become harder with every passing day. The rising cost of everything, the growing shortage of basic necessities, and the worry of cold, rainy days ahead are weighing heavily on us all. We are living through these hardships ourselves, and it breaks our hearts that, no matter how hard we try, we are struggling to secure even the essentials our families and furs depend on.

We are doing everything we can, but we can no longer manage this alone. Your kindness has carried us through so much, and we are deeply grateful. Please, stand with us once again, if you can. We are running out of options, and your support could make the difference between having enough to get by and going without the essentials. 🙏🐾💕

🚨💔 WE ARE STRUGGLING TO FIND FOOD FOR OUR CHILDREN AND RESCUED CATS.

Dear friends, every day, feeding our children, our families, and the cats we rescued becomes harder. With border crossings closed until further notice, essential supplies have become scarce and prices have soared. Meanwhile, donations have slowed, and the little money we depended on is running out.

We are trying everything we can, but love and determination cannot buy food when we have nothing left to pay for it. We urgently need your help to provide meals for our children and families, feed our rescued cats, and secure the most basic necessities before the situation becomes even worse.

🙏 Please, stand with us once again. Every donation, every repost, and every person who shares our story can help us get through another day. We have fought so hard to protect every life entrusted to our care. Please don't let that fight be in vain.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who continues to remember us and stand beside us. Your kindness helps keep us going when everything feels impossible. ❤️🐾

💔🐾 I WATCHED THEM EAT, KNOWING I MIGHT NOT HAVE ANOTHER MEAL TO BRING THEM.

Among broken stones and the ruins of their destroyed world, these little cats bend their heads over a bowl of food. They eat without knowing how close we are to running out. They don’t know that the hands feeding them are desperate, that our supplies are disappearing, or that tomorrow’s meal is no longer guaranteed. They simply trust us to come back. 😿💔

War took our home, destroyed AFS Shelter, and shattered the life we built to protect abandoned animals. Today, our own families are struggling for food and basic necessities, while our rescued cats depend on us for every bite. We have kept going for as long as we could, but we are reaching a point where love alone cannot fill an empty bowl.

🚨 PLEASE, LET THIS BE THE MOMENT SOMEONE HELPS US BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE.

We are asking for one more chance to feed our children, support our families, and keep our rescued cats alive. Please donate if you can. Share this appeal if you cannot. Help us reach someone who can stand beside us before the food runs out completely.

These innocent souls have already lost their home and their safety. Please don’t let hunger take away the little we are still fighting to protect. ❤️🐾🫂

🚨 This is our last meal; we are absolutely terrified. 💔🐾

Now I’m speaking to you as I put down the last food we have for our rescued cats. My hands are filling their bowls, but my heart is breaking. I look at them eating, knowing that this food all we have. I cannot stop wondering how I will face them when they come looking for their next meal and I have nothing left to give.

Dozens of cats still gather around us, trusting that we will take care of them. They eat without knowing that the shelves are nearly empty, that prices keep rising, and that the families caring for them are struggling to find food for themselves, too. They have no way to understand why the food might stop coming. All they know is that they are hungry, and they trust us not to leave them that way.

Please, hear this as our final call before the food runs out. We cannot keep filling their bowls with promises. We need help to buy the next meal. If you can donate, please do. If you cannot, share this appeal so it can reach someone who can. Your support could be the difference between finding food for them and watching them wait with empty bowls.

💔🐾 TONIGHT, WE ARE COUNTING MEALS. NOT DAYS.

A little food for the children. A little for the families. A little for the cats waiting at AFS.

We look at what remains and try to make it stretch. We calculate, divide, and worry about tomorrow. But hunger doesn't care how carefully we count. The food keeps disappearing, and we have no guarantee that we can replace it.

Somewhere, our rescued cats are waiting for us to arrive. They don't know that we are frightened, too. They don't know that we are struggling to find money to buy their food. They cannot understand why the people who have always fed them might one day arrive with nothing.

And our children? They should never have to live with the uncertainty of whether there will be enough food tomorrow.

We have reached a point where we are no longer asking what we can give them. We are asking how much longer we can keep giving anything at all. 💔

We don't need miracles. We need food. For our children, our families, and the innocent cats who have nowhere else to turn.

🙏 Please help us buy food before our remaining supplies run out. If you cannot donate, sharing this appeal could help it reach someone who can.

Please don't let our next count be of the empty bowls we couldn't fill. ❤️🐾

💔🐾 THEY HAVE LOST SO MUCH… PLEASE DON’T LET THEM LOSE THE ONE THING THEY STILL HAVE: A FULL BOWL.

Look at them. Little cats bending over their food, eating among broken stones, rubble, and the remains of a place that should never have become their world. They don’t understand why their lives are surrounded by destruction. They don’t know why food has become so difficult to find. They only know that they are hungry, and that for now, someone has brought them a meal. 😿💔

These are the innocent lives we continue to care for through AFS Shelter, even after war destroyed our home, our work, and the shelter we built for abandoned animals. Our own families are struggling to find enough food and basic necessities, while the rescued cats depend on us for every meal. We keep trying, but our resources are running out, and we cannot carry this burden alone.

🙏 Please help us keep their bowls filled and our families fed. Every donation, every repost, and every person who helps our appeals reach others can make a difference. These cats have already lost their safe world. Please help us protect what remains of their lives, one meal at a time. ❤️🐾🫂

If you cannot donate, please share. 🙏 Your kindness may be the reason these bowls are filled again tomorrow.
