"Can you ever forgive me...?"
@RogueOfBullets "This is amazing." Will exhaled, caressing Albert's face tenderly. He kissed him again slowly, deepening it as he tugged Albert towards the kitchen table. "We did it. We made...perfection."
And Will needed that perfection to lay him out on the table, okay?
@RogueOfBullets Albert was right. Will knew it, but the guilt was still heavy on him. He kissed him tenderly and deeply, hugging Albert tightly. He didn't dare let go.
"I'm not dreaming, right?" Carefully, he reached up and pulled the shades off, inhaling softly as he looked into red pools.
@RogueOfBullets Will slowly calmed down, touching Albert everywhere. In part to make sure he was real, and in part to check his body for changes or damage.
"I thought I had killed you...Oh, Albert, how could you trust me with something like that..."
@RogueOfBullets William felt his own excitement spreading. He looked up into Albert's shades, trying to see his eyes. He could see the faint red. Did they glow?
And then the weight of everything hit and he had his arms around Albert, sobbing.
@RogueOfBullets William gasped, knowing it was true. So very few people knew about Marcus. He noticed the shades in an instant, his mind and heart racing.
"You're alive...." He didn't fail. The virus worked. He hadn't killed his best friend. "You're...How do you feel?"
@RogueOfBullets "Albert?" William froze. He'd recognize that voice anywhere, but those eyes...
"I'm. Armed." Just in case it was a trap, he hoped the person stalking him wouldn't call his bluff. He never carried. He barely even knew what end the bullets went in.
@RogueOfBullets ~the dark building.
This was crazy, wasn't it? This felt like somewhere Albert should be as an officer solving a crime. It was almost exciting...
@RogueOfBullets Will felt out of place. Though, maybe he wasn't. His suit had been worn for four days, he had a short but rough beard and his coat was dirty and stained. He headed to the door, holding a flashlight (one of Albert's tactical flashlights, actually) as he looked into~
@RogueOfBullets Was this old? No. William's heart clenched and he sat down, reading the note several times over before leaving his lab for the first time. He was sure it wasn't old. It was nearly 2 in the morning when he arrived at the address.
@RogueOfBullets William had been awake for days by now. He'd barely slept since he'd gotten the news, and he'd lost probably 20 pounds. When he saw the notebook, he ignored it for a moment. It was their notebook, their plans. He hadn't touched it...so why had it moved? Was he dreaming?~
~Only reports.
Only Umbrella's certainty.
Albert taught me never to trust certainty.
Until I see proof, I will not believe he is gone.
But if these reports are true...
Then the future we built together died beneath that mansion.
And I was the one who sent him there.

Sergei Vladimir came to the laboratory today.
He didn't bring reports.
He brought condolences.
The Spencer Mansion has been destroyed. The Tyrant escaped containment. Personnel losses are considered~
~Waiting.
Giving me permission to tell the truth.
I couldn't.
Not yet.
I smiled.
I lied.
I said he was running late.
Sherry nodded and asked if we should save him dessert.
Annette had to leave the table.
I heard her crying in the hallway.
...
There are no bodies.~
