@pbhushan1 No institution today can risk taking action that makes the ruling dispensation uncomfortable. Ultimately, only the ballot can remove those in power. Movements like JP or actions like CJP are rare. It's time for Twitter warriors to step out into the field and engage on the ground.

@LiveLawIndia Judiciary is perceived by some as covertly supporting the government's high-handedness. Judiciary, at every level, is seen as doing what pleases the government. Judiciary was created as an independent pillar to ensure that the rule of law prevails.

@LiveLawIndia The CJI could have taken suo motu cognizance and sought answers from the Police Commissioner. Who were the unidentified men seen assaulting students? Why were some police/RAF personnel reportedly without name badges? Institutions inspire confidence when they act independently.
