@chinmay185 I haven't found any structured way yet but i would highly suggest a book which challenges engineering mindset and allows for some great thinking on the product side. Its not solving the problem but 1 step towards start

@chinmay185 1 more thing I would often ask is which books they have read. Curious folks often try to go deep and the choice of their books tells a lot about them.

@chinmay185 Both the traits are super important and can't be developed overnight. Often now a days people try to make it up in interviews,so I would always lookup for their past work. One thing i definitely ask is what hobby projects you built or what tech/non tech you do other than work.

@chinmay185 This is a good and unique problem. The first thought which came to my mind was "is table write locked because of some migration". And from soln side "quickly create new schema and swap tables( atomic op)" thats how percona too does migration. Also triggers to old tabl if req.

@Akshat_World This is an interesting point. One suggestion though. However valid a point is (specifically in real estate/finance) its hard to convince people. A more reasonable approach is to explain alwys with an exampl with the math behind it. As they say-"no one believes until they see" .

@Akshat_World @ICICIBank My wife was recently working with icici and had similar types of experience (not this inhumane) but enough harrassing experience that she had to leave out of no choice. Pressure doesn't give right to behave inhumane or disrespectfully. Its the whole culture like that.
