Unpopular opinion: Animal is all hype
Just hear me out

I went into the theaters fully aware that the movie might be toxic, misogynistic, and violent. But it was none of that.

All the offensive things about Animal are offensive not because of how outrageous they are. They are offensive because they are out of place.

Character motivations were completely missing. Some plots just dropped midway. Characters being introduced in one scene just never to appear again. Main villain coming so late and doing so little.

The entire theatre was silent throughout. No cheers, no claps, only yawns.

These were the longest 3 hours I have spent in a theatre. Don't fall for the hype. Manage your expectations. Or wait it out.
