i have said it once
i will say it again:
if you take commissions at ALL - you are a BUSINESS
operate as one. document everything you do. communicate clearly and in a timely manner.
a good art style is nothing if your professional reputation is garbage. respect goes both ways.
Sinder acknowledged that Nano approached her privately and asked people to leave Nano alone because she doesnt want her to go through what she went through. That shows maturity, compassion, and genuine care for others. That speaks louder than the claims people have made about her
Just to remind everyone why it is important that the apology should be done privately AND publicly to Sinder.
Saying it should ONLY be private shows you only care about YOUR peace and not the victim's peace over being falsely accused.
Imagine how much $$$ these people made.
Sinder fans burning their merch and crying left and right for days. Sinder herself gone for months and out of being a stakeholder at Gamer Supps. The whole vtubing community on fire.
The word "Google Dockey" itself.
And then a public "Oopsies I did a defamation and I don't even know why".
I mean it's a good thing that Nano feels guilt if that's what really happened, sure, but now I'm even more confused about why did that even happen in the first place.
Seems the only bad thing Sinder did in that case was between her and her Boyfriend/Manager, which frankly they should handle themselves and wasn't actually relevant to the case at all.
It's been 1,5 year and now we officially know it was all over nothing. What scares me the most is that this could've happened to anyone. Sinder was perhaps big enough already to manage, but imagine someone smaller who could not bounce back in any way.
Just, ehh. Just a big ehh. I dunno man.
I genuinely don’t know what to say or how I feel about this. It’s honestly a mix of emotions.
First of all, an apology is better late than never. But with that being said, I have more questions again.
Why now? And especially, why the repeated “Sinder if you see this” when you have means of contacting her directly?
Considering how the whole situation started I highly question why your first thought was to make a public statement again over reaching out to her personally and properly apologising to her first.
What happened wasn’t a simple “hehe upsi, my bad” mistake. You DESTROYED her career, for no damn reason. She lost a big majority of her friends, viewers, opportunities and a big part of the community she had built. She quit streaming and was isolated for months, while she helped you build your brand foundation, opened you to many possibilities, and did nothing but support you.
The damage didn't stop with just the original document, because other people took what was said and ran with it, going as far as making a video publicly labelling her as a psychopath, which gained traction outside the vtubing sphere and added another massive layer to the damage, and much more.
I’m not saying this out or blue, I was one of the first people to stand up for her. So much of what was being said didn’t make sense to me and I chose to believe in her when people harshly judged me. It made me lose friendships over it too, so this is very personal to me.
I can see that you’re sorry. I can see that you feel guilty. But I think there’s a difference between saying “I’m sorry for the hurt I’ve done” and actually addressing what you caused. It acknowledges the aftermath, but it doesn’t really correct the things that caused it.
I’m always going to believe forgiveness is important. People can grow and do better, and I’m not saying any of this to encourage hate or another pile-on.
But the way you ask for forgiveness matters too.
I genuinely hope this can eventually lead to some healing. I don’t want another public spectacle out of this, and I don’t think anyone benefits from one, but as someone who was there through all of this and watched the consequences firsthand, I can’t pretend this apology makes me feel like everything that happened has been properly addressed yet.
Ultimately, what Sinder chooses to do with this is entirely up to her and what I am saying does NOT represent her current houghts, or brand, in the slightest. My thoughts are my own and I want to make that VERY clear.
