Revolut confirma que entregó datos sensibles de clientes tras caer en una solicitud gubernamental falsa.

Un atacante usó una cuenta de correo creada dentro del dominio real de una agencia gubernamental, con credenciales de autenticación válidas. El mensaje pasó los controles de seguridad y Revolut lo dio por legítimo.

Entre los datos comprometidos: pasaportes, licencias de conducir, selfies de verificación, direcciones, extractos bancarios e historiales completos de transacciones, incluyendo movimientos en Bitcoin.

Revolut asegura que sus sistemas no fueron vulnerados, que no se movieron fondos y que las contraseñas y datos biométricos de verificación facial no se vieron afectados. La compañía ya notificó a los clientes afectados —un grupo limitado, según las primeras informaciones— y a los reguladores, y bloqueó la cuenta usada en el ataque.

El caso confirma una tendencia: los atacantes ya no necesitan romper sistemas técnicos. Les basta con explotar la confianza humana y procesos de verificación débiles.

Say her name: Erin Piacenti.

You will hear plenty about her killer, Pamela Cisneros. You will hear less about Erin. That is the pattern. A 32-year-old woman was stabbed to death in Times Square on Monday in an unprovoked attack. She was a Bank of America vice president. She had just celebrated her second wedding anniversary. She had a life in front of her. A woman with a documented history of mental illness was on the street with kitchen knives. Erin is dead. The 68-year-old man Cisneros also stabbed lived.

If the races were reversed in the attack, and Erin wasn’t white, there’d be wall-to-wall media coverage and every Democrat in the city would have a podium. There would be marches. There would be a demand that the city change. Because she was a white woman killed by someone who was not, her name is an afterthought unless people on X say it.

I am livid. I cannot imagine what her family is carrying.

Pray for the Piacenti family. Say Erin’s name. Say it loudly. Erin Piacenti’s life mattered.

No. Es alguien que cruzó la frontera sin autorización, se quedó, y ahora la prensa trata el estatuto legal como si fuera una cuestión de estilo de escritura.”

CNN: “Pero muchos contribuyen a la economía...”

Miller: “Ah, el argumento clásico: el crimen deja de ser crimen si la persona lava platos o construye techos. Por el mismo criterio, el contrabandista de cigarrillos también ‘contribuye’, genera empleo en el transporte. ¿Quieren que lo llamemos ‘emprendedor logístico informal’? ¿CNN se apunta?”

CNN: “Estás polarizando.”

Miller: “No. Me estoy negando a aceptar el diccionario de marketing. Cambian la palabra, luego acusan a quien usa el término legal de ser ‘inhumano’. Es el truco más viejo del libro: primero suavizan el vocabulario, luego declaran victoria moral. Estados Unidos ya está harto de este teatro. Llámenlo por su nombre. O admitan que el objetivo nunca fue claridad — fue control de la narrativa.”
