It’s an interesting watching so much of the discourse around AI and Data Centers pushed by people who don’t have to live with the facilities or live around the infrastructure that it comes with
They are gonna do their best to take away the votes from Democrats and especially Black Southerners
This makes 2026 all of nothing for the GA Democrats b/c They need to win EVERY top of ticket race
…especially Gov/Lt Gov/Secretary of State/Attorney General, to pushback.
@IamKingWilliams I moved to Atlanta in 1976, when all the interstates were 4 lane, and it took an hour to go from Gwinnett to Greenbriar Mall. When they doubled to 8 lanes, it still took an hour, and we know how long it takes at 12.
This is the same rhetoric used both after Reconstruction, Jim Crow and during the Civil Rights Movement…
But now conservatives have one unified party that controls ALL major branches of government, most governorships AND state houses in the US
This is an apartheid state
Just so we're clear, the DOJ is fighting AGAINST the California redistricting effort WHICH VOTERS APPROVED, but is fine with the Texas redistricting that occurred WITHOUT voter input.
The corruption is real folks.
A booming metro with car-oriented sprawl will never solve car congestion. It's a hopeless goal.
Instead, let's address the sprawl problem: build affordable, denser places, focused on walking/bikes/transit.
That doesn't mean banning all cars but it does mean acting like a city.
"Georgia is sitting on a massive cash cushion, with more than $14.6 billion now in state reserves"
I don't want a surplus sitting around. I want properly funded transit, bike lanes, and social programs in the annual budget. The cashboxes should be empty.

I'll put this as plainly as I can. There should be no discussion of extending the TADs until the issues of the assessment of commercial properties have been addressed by @andreforatlanta, APS, and Fulton County. Should be an obvious first step towards our budgetary needs.
GDOT is spending close over $5 billion on road widening projects NOW on I-285 when instead all of that could’ve funded the Beltline, streetcar expansion, and all of the More MARTA plan for that
This would’ve made everyone’s commute better and reduced car costs
Apparently the police have a hard time infiltrating anarchist groups because they can't keep up with the reading involved. Gotta say, that's relatable.
@IamKingWilliams There's a park inside the U of Princeton Way off N Decatur. The only access is between houses, so it's great for children being off the street.
ATL leadership: "I'm what u call a choice rider. I read that in this 1 article about transit I read that 1 time."
Me: "So if MARTA improved you'd choose 2 ride it more?"
ATL: "Oh God no. If we make it better then more minorities will use it & trust me, we got enough of them." /1
As we discuss the nonfuture of rail on the @AtlantaBeltline, let's take a moment 2 consider that @andreforatlanta, Clyde Higgs, Dr. Klementich of @InvestAtlanta, & the interim CEO of @MARTAtransit John Hunt have a combined 0 years of professional training or experience in transit
@IamKingWilliams Huh. That's about when I quit watching TV. No noble reason, only that I had 3 kids and had gone back to school, and just didn't have time. No network TV, and totally missed Fox News. Never got back in the habit, and I'm glad now.
One time, I asked Nick Saban about Colin Kaepernick but he said he stays out of politics…
Except for ONE time, when he introduced Trump at a rally so he could talk to Trump about NIL
Now news reports say Trump is considering an executive order on NIL
Then, reports “leak” that Saban is considering unretiring
Anyway, shame on Colin Kaepernick for bringing politics into sports
