@alyssa456700961 yes, I agree, web 2.0 allows us to collaborate and lets students engage with super fun websites and online games that facilitate their learning... but this has cons like tech addiction starting super early and isolation/alienation in "social" settings like the classroom

@alyssa456700961 yes! Sometimes it's valuable to memorize certain things, like the spelling of words or multiplication tables, but memorizing everything is just unnecessary and can make learning experiences feel less intriguing and more boring

@alyssa456700961 agree, I think if all courses had some type of social media component, I would be frustrated with them. I value communication and collaboration but honestly, I prefer it in person more than I do digitally

Yes, Disney created propaganda and gendered/racialized messaging, but it's interesting to wonder how much of this is actually internalized by children. Did the doc position children as ppl with no agency who absorb messaging instinctively?

@Lydia_307 yes, I'm also glad different configurations exist! I don't believe they all offer the same value to society (some are more critical and implicate more systemic issues than others haha) but nonetheless, I'm glad we've developed so many categories and ideologies - its interesting

interesting how commercialization & marketing disrupts play and dilutes creativity. do you think medias create play stagnation? How can we combat this?
