台下有人笑了，觉得这算什么建议？谁家没吃过这些东西？

可他下一句话，让笑声停了：

“你们天天研究什么‘超级食物’‘进口麦片’‘营养代餐’，花了大价钱，却忘了最基础的东西——那些没有包装的、从土里长出来的、蒸熟了就能吃的，才是身体真正认得的东西。”

你发现没有，我们这代人在“吃”上，已经走得太远了。

我们把简单的吃，变成了复杂的工程。 早上起来，先想今天吃什么——是吃燕麦还是吃面包？要不要加奇亚籽？鸡蛋要煎的还是煮的？牛奶要脱脂还是全脂？一杯咖啡要不要加椰子油？一顿早餐，决策链比项目方案还长。

我们把天然的吃，变成了工业的吃。 冰箱里堆满了预包装食品：即食燕麦、蛋白棒、代餐奶昔、全麦吐司。你看着配料表上那一长串化学名词，以为自己在吃“健康食品”，其实你是在吃“工业制品”。那些东西，你的身体根本不认识。

我们把便宜的吃，变成了昂贵的吃。 你花三十块钱买一杯“超级食物”果昔，还不如花两块钱蒸一根玉米。玉米里的膳食纤维、维生素B族、叶黄素，样样都是好东西，而且身体一吃就知道怎么处理它。那些花哨的东西，身体还要先研究一下“这是什么”，研究完了发现没啥用，再排出去。费劲不费劲？

我见过两个人。

第一个，我一个在投行工作的朋友。每天早餐极其“精致”：一杯防弹咖啡、一碗燕麦碗配蓝莓坚果、一个水煮蛋、一杯蔬果汁。全套下来，五十块钱打底。他说这是“高质量早餐”，是“对自己好”。结果呢？今年体检，血脂偏高、胃反流、维生素D缺乏。他不明白：“我吃得那么健康，怎么会这样？”医生跟他说了一句话：“你吃的那些东西，身体不认得。你吃进去的是概念，不是营养。”

第二个，是我家楼下一个七十多岁的阿姨。每天早上雷打不动，蒸一根玉米或者红薯，加一个水煮蛋，配一碗小米粥。几十年如一日。我上次问她：“阿姨你不吃腻吗？”她笑了笑说：“我吃了几十年了，身体习惯了，它舒服，我也舒服。”她七十多了，血压正常、血糖正常、走路带风。她一辈子没吃过什么“超级食物”，但她吃的每一口，身体都认得。

一个吃着五十块钱的“概念早餐”，吃出了一身毛病。一个吃着两块钱的“土里长出来的早餐”，吃到了七十多还硬朗。区别是什么？是你吃的那些东西，身体认不认得。

有人会说：那是不是就天天吃玉米红薯，别的都不吃了？

不是让你天天只吃这几样。那个医学博士说的核心不是“只吃这几种”，是——你早上不知道吃什么的时候，选最朴素的。你早上想对自己好一点的时候，也选最朴素的。

为什么是“蒸”的？因为蒸是最不破坏食物原本营养的烹饪方式。你煎、炸、烤，温度高了，营养就跑了。你加糖、加油、加各种酱，味道好了，身体负担也重了。蒸的，原味的，最笨的方法，往往是最好的方法。

为什么是“饿了就吃”？因为身体告诉你饿了，你就吃。不饿就不吃，饿过头了才吃，一顿吃撑了，这些都不对。那个博士反复说的“饿了就吃”，其实就是让你尊重身体的信号。你早上起来不饿，不用硬塞。你饿了，就吃一根蒸玉米。就这么简单。

怎么吃？记住三个“认”：

第一，认得出原料。 你拿起一个食物，你能看出它原来长什么样，那它就是好东西。玉米就是玉米，红薯就是红薯，鸡蛋就是鸡蛋。你看不出它原来是什么的，就别往嘴里送。

第二，认得出味道。 原味的、没有添加的、入口能吃出食材本味的，才是对的。那些加了糖、加了盐、加了香精让你“觉得好吃”的，往往是在骗你的舌头，不是喂你的身体。

第三，身体认得出它。 你吃完以后，身体是舒服的、清爽的、有劲的，那就是吃对了。吃完以后昏昏沉沉、打嗝反酸、肚子胀气，那就是吃错了。

那位医学博士最后说了一段话，我一个字没漏：

“我看了这么多年病，发现一个规律——那些身体好的人，不是吃得最贵的，是吃得最朴素的。他们的餐桌上没什么新鲜花样，就是玉米、红薯、鸡蛋、青菜、米饭。这些东西，你曾祖母也吃，你的身体经过了上万年的进化，就认得这些东西。而那些工业化的、包装精美的、配料表很长的食物，你的身体不认识它，它就在你身体里闹脾气。闹着闹着，病就来了。”

你明天早上吃什么？如果还没想好，去菜市场买两根玉米，蒸一下，配个水煮蛋。不贵，不麻烦，你的身体认得它。

NEPAL FLOOD: CHINA LAUNCHES RESCUE MISSION; NED GROUPS SEIZE OPPORTUNITY TO DEMONIZE CHINA

The first pilots from the China rescue mission to reach the Nepal Border Station were stunned at what they saw.

Nothing.

The border building had gone. The office building had gone. The car park full of coaches and cars was gone. The roads were gone.

But most shocking, the people had gone – literally hundreds of people who used the border crossing or worked there – it had all been swept away. All that remained was bare rock, with not one brick left standing on another.

RESCUE OPERATION LAUNCHED
A huge operation had been launched to save people after a fast-moving ocean of mud and rock had slammed through a valley on the border of China and Nepal.

More than 450 bodies had been found and more than 1,000 more people were still missing, with at least 500 missing on the Tibet side of the border.

But while rescue workers from China and elsewhere were hard at work, something else had happened.

The China demonizers swung into action, trying desperately to politicize the tragedy.

These people were not expressing sadness for the lost individuals or care for the survivors. They were openly hunting for a way to blame China.

Nepalese citizen Gus Ferguson, a musician, was one of many who spotted this.

He wrote: “Empathy and Sympathy for the Victims of this Catastrophe? Not. a. Word. Just anti China propaganda.”

The flood in Nepal moved boulders the size of cars for one reason. The stuff flowing through those valleys weighed almost twice as much as water.

Regular floodwater is about 1,000 kg per cubic meter. This surge came off a glacier avalanche loaded with pulverized ice, silt, sand and gravel, all moving as a single fluid. An engineering professor studying the disaster compared it to liquid cement. Debris flows like this approach 2,000 kg per cubic meter.

Density is why the boulders move.

Granite runs about 2,650 kg per cubic meter. Sitting in clear water, a boulder stays put forever. Sitting in a 2,000 kg slurry, buoyancy cancels roughly three quarters of its weight. A 500 ton rock suddenly pushes down like a 125 ton rock, and the current handles the rest.

The same density means every wave hits a building with about twice the force of clean water at the same speed. That's why entire settlements ended up encased in mud instead of just soaked.

The surge was violent enough to show up on instruments built for a different disaster. The USGS logged a magnitude 4.4 earthquake near the source, and researchers are still untangling whether a quake triggered the avalanche or the avalanche slamming into the river registered as the quake.

On one stretch of the Trishuli, the water rose 30 feet in half an hour. More than 95 people are confirmed dead and over 1,000 are still missing.

The boulder in the video is a measuring device. When something that size tumbles like a pebble, you're reading the density of everything around it.

今天再看 Lauren Tan 的履历，很容易把她归类成一个典型的硅谷明星工程师： 她做过 Netflix 的 engineering manager，在 Meta 的 React Core 团队工作多年，参与 React Compiler。后来加入 Cursor，开始研究如何让 coding agent 像真正的工程团队一样工作。

但她并不是从 Computer Science 开始的。

Lauren 早年读过职业设计学校，后来到澳大利亚 Monash University 学金融，成绩并不好。大学里唯一接近编程的经历，是一门用 Excel VBA 做 financial modelling 的课。她懂一点变量、循环和条件判断，却完全不知道这些东西怎么组合成一个真正的 web application。

毕业后她和朋友做了一家 startup。两人都不会写程序，只能拿积蓄请开发者。产品没做成，积蓄花光。创业失败后，她才开始认真学 Ruby on Rails 和 JavaScript。不是带着"我一定可以"的信念，而是觉得自己跟不上这个飞快变化的领域，甚至考虑过换一份更普通稳定的工作。

后来她才明白，自己不是没有学习能力，只是每进入一个新领域，信心都会先掉下去。她真正擅长的，是尝试、失败、再重新做一遍。这几乎成了她后来整个职业生涯的节奏：

前端开发工作，Ember 社区的技术文章，第一次登台的 EmberConf 演讲，写博客--不是因为她已经是专家才开始公开写作，而是因为公开写作，她才逐渐成为更好的工程师。

2017 年，Lauren 把这些经历写成《I Am Still Learning》，整篇文章几乎由同一句话推动：

"我害怕。"

但她后来理解到，恐惧不一定是在叫你后退，它只是提醒你：这里有一样你还不会、但值得学的东西。她开始把"太舒服"当成危险信号。真正让她担心的，从"别人会不会发现我不够好"，变成了"我会不会过得太舒服"。

这条线一直延伸到 Meta。她加入 React 团队，参与 React Compiler 等底层工作；2024 年 React Compiler Beta 的官方发布文章由她署名。一个曾经觉得自己 JavaScript 都学不明白、没有 CS 背景的人，后来构建了每天被大量开发者依赖的编程基础设施。

For someone who’s used to the London Underground, using the Subway in Glasgow is like stepping into a different world. Travelling with kids just after the morning rush hour, a woman dressed in orange warmly welcomed us all to the station concourse, engaged in chit chat, and then immediately offered us assistance to ensure we purchased the best value tickets for today.

The guy at the window then sold me a day pass that gave me change from a fiver, with the kids only being a couple of quid each as well. The train then arrived and there’s a sort of unwritten code where people ensure that those who were on the platform before them board the train first, as opposed to ‘elbows out, f**k you, and last one on board’s a massive sissy.’

You sit on the train and people sometimes actually want to talk to you instead of just glaring at you like they want you to spontaneously evaporate because you had the sheer nerve to get on the same train as them. ‘Here mate I’ll move so you can sit with your kids’ instead of not bothering so you end up getting off at Kings Cross with three of them by your side while the other one merrily wings their way to Cockfosters.

Finally, when you reach the other end and get to the ticket barrier, your mobile phone wallet hasn’t knackered the magnetic strip on the back of the ticket because there isn’t one - the cardboard has built-in NFC or whatever so you just tap it, the gate opens, and then you piss off and get on with the rest of your day.

Yeah, I know Glasgow’s subway is way, way smaller and there’s only two lines - an ‘outie’ and in ‘innie’ that both go round in a circle in opposite directions so if you get bladdered and fall asleep you’ll always eventually end up where you need to be. However, I didn’t leave the network feeling like I wanted to twat someone or emigrate to Greenland, which unfortunately is something I experience on The Tube more often than not.

I did not see a red flag in that Nvidia print.

Genuinely, I’m curious what red flags people are seeing. I’d be the first to nit-pick and try to figure out what the street is upset about, but this was genuinely one of the best calls Jensen has ever had.

It’s not even about the stock. Price is still below where it was just last week. I am trying to figure out if there is a reasonable argument outside of “AI is a bubble” to actually be meaningfully bearish here.

Jensen answered every question in a way that just proved demand was stronger than supply and Nvidia’s growth was not going to slow down.

- Beat the whisper numbers by a crazy amount including the guide.

- Bought back $20B of stock and guided to buy back a ton more.

- Kept margins basically the same.

- Answered circular financing fears by explaining how their model creates more proliferation of AI, even if bears don’t like their answer.

- Explained how open source and frontier models will work together.

- Said that their growth is only constrained because of the supply chain and nothing else.

- 40% of revenues are hyperscalers and even with increased competition, companies like Amazon pledged to buy ANOTHER 2M GPUs and even more CPUs.

- Street thought they’d do 40% rev growth next year and Jensen said the floor is basically 70% now.

Outside of the common bear cases, what was wrong with the print? Again, I don’t care much about the stock not moving because that is up to algos/the street/macro but for the company itself, I just do not see what to be meaningfully concerned about.

My dad was diagnosed with Stage 4 prostate cancer out of nowhere.

Just a few months ago, he was completely fine. His physical exam five months earlier showed normal lab results. Then, suddenly, he started feeling achy and exhausted.

They ran bloodwork, and his PSA came back at 141. It had been 3.4 just months earlier.

Scans showed Gleason 9 prostate cancer with widespread bone metastases. Stage 4.

We didn’t waste any time. Along with hormone blockers and chemotherapy, his oncologist started adding:

1. Ivermectin: 24 mg/day
2. Fenbendazole: 222 mg/day

Three months later, his PSA dropped from 141 to 0.25.

That’s a 99.8% drop.

He’s feeling much better, has more energy, and the numbers are moving in the right direction quickly. His oncologist is very happy with how he’s responding.

We’re still waiting on the next set of scans, but right now, we’re extremely grateful for how well things are going.

This isn’t medical advice—just sharing what happened with my dad. If you or someone you love is going through something similar, I hope this gives you a little hope.

🚨🇳🇵🇨🇳 Quick update on the tragic Nepal-Tibet floods we’ve been tracking... it's pure heartbreak.

At least 165 people gone in Nepal (and that number is still rising). 3 more dead in Tibet, with 265 still missing.

Nearly 400 travelers have VANISHED in Nepal, including hundreds of foreigners... Italy alone is missing 90 of its citizens.

What was first thought to be an earthquake was actually the massive ice-and-rock landslide. It was SO powerful it shook the ground like a magnitude 5.2 earthquake...

It crashed into the river, sending water surging downstream and destroying everything in minutes.

The main China-Nepal border crossing was gone in under a minute. Whole villages, roads and bridges just disappeared. Families are living through absolute hell right now.

Rescue teams are fighting hard, but it’s brutal. Helicopters hover low so people can climb to safety wherever they can.

Hundreds of families (perhaps more) are still waiting for any word on their loved ones. Praying some of them get good news soon 🙏💔

🇺🇸 A letter Trump received back in 1989 from legendary New York Yankees owner George Steinbrenner.

In the letter, Steinbrenner urges Trump to run for president, after seeing him appear on Morton Downey.

"You were great! You tell it like it is... you should run for president some day and get the whole damn thing straightened out."

Steinbrenner died in 2010, so he never got to see President Trump... but he saw something in him.

If anyone could appreciate a guy who "tells it like it is," it was Steinbrenner... baseball fans know 😂
