EU27 statement on the framework agreement between LB and IL - an important step towards peace. 🇪🇺 commends the constructive engagement of 🇮🇱 and 🇱🇧 and urges all actors to adhere to the agreement. Any lasting solution must be anchored in the 🇺🇳 Security Council Resolution 1701.

I welcome the announcement of an agreement between the United States and Iran. Congratulations to everyone involved, including Pakistan, Qatar, and the other mediators.

This agreement paves the way for ending the war and opening the Strait of Hormuz, which will have a significant impact on the region and the global economy. 

I urge all involved to take advantage of the situation and find a lasting solution to the conflict in accordance with international law.

I was pleased to meet with United Arab Emirates’ Minister of State Lana Nusseibeh at Kultaranta today. We had a very good discussion on bilateral relations and the situation in the Middle East. We agreed on the importance of achieving a sustainable peace for the region. 🇫🇮🇦🇪

As efforts continue to preserve the ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and Israel, another @UNIFIL_ peacekeeper was killed on 4 June.

The killing of peacekeepers is a violation of international law and must be met with full accountability.

We agreed on the urgent need to secure freedom of navigation and toll free passage in the Strait of Hormuz.
