Why does soul love hurt so much?

When both partners, or one of them, are not yet ready or mature enough to handle their deep soul connection and the love between them, they suffer. Instead of a harmonious relationship, painful conflicts develop over time—ego-driven defense strategies. The soul cries out for the opening of the heart, for freedom—while the ego clings to its armor and fights for survival.

When soul love hurts, the mind has taken control. It tries to understand something that cannot be explained logically, something that can only be understood with the heart.

Soul partners act as mirrors for each other, for alongside your attractive opposites, you also carry a piece of the other within you.

This automatically leads to confronting each other, often quickly, with your dormant and suppressed shadows, fears, and deep-seated blockages from the past.

Remember that it is not love that hurts, but the exposure of all your deep-rooted wounds.

If you or your partner close yourselves off to inner growth, it inevitably leads to repulsion and distance between you.

Suffering in soul love arises only when you cannot feel and accept yourself and your shadows (your wounded parts). This makes it impossible to accept your partner with all their imperfections.

The energy between soul partners is so powerful that it both attracts and repels. Both of you must be capable of handling this forceful, often confusing connection. The soul strives for realization, while the ego strives for avoidance.
