I once met a person who was kind on the outside, but broken on the inside.
He was always so outspoken about who he was and “this is just who I am”.
People who liked him and his ideals affirmed it and said “oh this is just who you are, who you’ll always be. It’s ok to be you! We love you for you!”
Not too long after this he made a big mistake and seriously hurt people he loved, his mentality of “this is just who I am” led him to be so focused on himself that he physically hurt others around him and became physically the monster inside of him.
Did he regret it? Maybe… did he look in the mirror and see who he had become? It’s highly likely. Did he love who he was? No, I don’t believe he did. It led him to a place of destruction and far more pain than he thought he’d endure.
The same people who liked and affirmed him because of his ideals turned on him like ravaging wolfs.. “I always hated him.” They said.. “I always knew he was an abusive freak.” Others said..
They were quick to be his executioner for the wrong he had done, yet never thought to encourage change in the mentality that led to this monster coming to the light.
This person was an amazing artist, he had a kind, gentle smile and he had a beautiful family.
The monster inside of him did not care. It wanted more of him, it wanted him to appease its lusts and desires. It wanted his character, it wanted his soul.
He revealed that monster to the world, that same monster that hides in every one of us.
Even though this person allowed the monster to consume him, there was still someone who cared about this man’s soul. So much so that this very “Someone” paid the price for this persons abuse and selfishness.
This “Someone” is Jesus Christ.
Jesus saw through the monster and saw the person hiding in fear.
Jesus saw the artist who loved to create.
He saw the boy who had a kind gentle heart towards others.
Jesus paid the cost to free the person from the chains the monster had locked this person in.
Jesus reached his hand out and grabbed this person, He held him and told him, “you are mine.”

Jesus loves every single one of you.
If you need Him, find Him.
If you don’t, He’ll find you.

Don’t think that He needs you, He just has a desire to be with the one whom He loves.

Search for Him.

“He who loves his life loses it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it to life eternal.” John 12:25
