Fcck he knows his job too well .. now seriously.. when Mido told taesung that between her boyfriend and him, she’d sleep with Taesung, but if it came down to who she’d save, she’d definitely save Namgoong, Taesung's reaction was "hold my beer", went and delivered a brutal reality check for her that left her completely shaken..

​Mido lost her father at ocean, which is maybe why she fears the ocean..and early episodes told us how much she loved her father.. Taesung used that exact "her biggest love" to make her see just how arrogant her line sounded.. and he really has a point here .. who you save sometimes depends entirely on who holds your heart in that specific moment not on history.. In short, he told her she has no idea how her feelings might shift over this one month.. She clearly won't stop caring for namgoong of course, but if taesung gives her what she truly needs and she falls for him, her certainty about who she'd save is going to crumble..

Some might call Taesung arrogant here, but he hits on a profound psychological truth unfortunately, that i myself witnessed many times and I almost got the experience of it myself ..
as much as we value those who saved us during our darkest times or those who stayed and survived the storm with you , waking up every single day looking at someone who constantly reminds you of your worst trauma or time after a while becomes a prison... Many trauma-bonded couples split not from a lack of love, but because staying together means never truly escaping the past that really hurt them ( for example couples who lose a child ) .. unfortunately It’s not arrogance.. it’s raw human psychology..

Taesung is far from a perfect guy .. but .. taesung and mido met as two adults who are genuinely drawn to each other, completely free of any shared past baggage. neither of them truly knows what side of themselves they'll reveal to each other .. and no one really knows how the process of getting know each other can develop .. yet over the last 3–4 episodes, Taesung has consistently shown Mido a side of himself that perhaps no one else in his life has ever seen ?
