Tip for all doctors:
Can't figure out a diagnosis? Order an ANA. If it comes back positive you can just refer them to rheumatology and it's their problem now.

Include generalists in clinical research and guidelines!! This became so clear during the pandemic. The generalists were the ones providing the care but never on authorship teams despite seeing the most MIS-C and acute COVID. Hoping to be a subspecialty ally in the future.
Really really important point here. We are generating these data and implementing the interventions. Adding hospitalists to the authorship team isn’t just the right thing to do - it makes the work better.

We don’t always know the exact reason for a patient’s problem, but we don’t acknowledge or communicate that well. Proud to be on the leadership team for this project to improve recognition and communication of diagnostic uncertainty! @kellyoohh @iritmd@Annatomiga @VFairchildMD
@PEMatCHOP pilot data shows diagnostic uncertainty (DU) is not recognized by clinicians in ~50% of patients who have change in Dx from admission to discharge. Our team is working to improve awareness & communication of DU and reduce #dxerror via QI project funded by @ImproveDX
