@NickOwen50@carlfhoward All whilst those workers have worsening chances of having their own home, having a family, having leisure time. I really think we’re heading for collapse- not just economic but spiritual collapse.
@NickOwen50@carlfhoward Unfortunately, the hamsters at the wheel who are having to pay for the state pension of their elders, are losing the will to live. And once those hamsters are dead, no-one gets anything.
@RichardDawkins Yes- children are now so extrinsically motivated now, they’ll do the thing for a reward rather than the enjoyment of the thing itself. My son loved reading until the school started offering points- now he just reads what he ‘has to’.
@justin_hart@JennyErikson I’m so sorry. I had a similar experience during lockdown and I can’t get over the cruelty of it. As though it’s not already one of the worst moments- to have to go through it alone and separately. I don’t know how medical professionals stood by and watched it.
@shookzie@Whysoglumman@dr_besty@tinajaneb33 I’m a work consultant… I know the trends in working hours and commutes aren’t a choice for most people. We have poorly planned housing developments with no employment. More traffic, more pollution, less leisure time and no community.
@shookzie@Whysoglumman@dr_besty@tinajaneb33 We work many more hours than previous generations and with much longer commutes. In addition, both adults need to work to afford what one person could afford back then. All the housework still needs to be done or paid to be outsourced.
@javert1948@tinajaneb33 Yes and I’ll also be contributing the same, probably more, and will get nothing. Meanwhile, I’m being taxed to oblivion and can’t even afford a home for my family because I’m committed to paying the state pension of those currently retired.
Personally, I think all parties should have equal resources to get their message across to the people. No party should be disadvantaged by not being heard.
Be clear. Reform now has the resource to buy every billboard in the UK, blanket wall to wall advertising across written and broadcast media and saturation leafleting. The British will be blitzed into voting for the ultra right - against every best instinct. It is a dark moment.
@angelazhay@williamnhutton He’s obviously superior to the rest of us, who will enter the polling station and mindlessly vote for whichever party we saw on a billboard most recently.
@williamnhutton@stephenleah3 Yes because I will vote for whichever party has the most billboards. I trust you won’t be forced to vote Reform if they have the most billboards, because you’re more intelligent than the rest of us?
@iWomansplainer Upright much easier. I didnt have any drugs and just instinctively found that position without thinking. The pain became more intense but I knew that was because the baby was coming. Each one born in 2 or 3 pushes.
@DrSdeG Which is why I take the children directly to A&E, if I think that’s where I’m going to be sent anyway. I’d rather get there at 4pm than go through 111 and still end up there but at 8pm.
@becathome4 I’m a big believer in just letting women find their own birthing positions- I reckon they’ll be the best ones. I’ve had three upright births and I wouldn’t have let anyone move me into a different position- the body knows what to do.
@JacquiDeevoy1@johndmtb Living in a rural village that suffers multiple power outages in a year, this worries me a lot. We’ve barely got any internet signal. This seems very dangerous to me.
