Otherwise, copyright legally remains with whoever made the work, barring other people from using it. So if I don't want other people to use or sell my work, no CC license! :)

@AllenSo50358275 @BrianCassell @tasneem67085807 @MaryamTabrizi6 I've used a lot of images and icons that are licensed with a CC license but I've never released any of my own work under a CC license because most of it is either client work that has to be licensed only for the client to use or artwork I want to sell.

@tasneem67085807 @MaryamTabrizi6 @AllenSo50358275 @BrianCassell I used Powerpoint recently to flip between a “non-designed” Ppt slide a client had made and a redesign I did for them - and instead of lecturing I got the students to tell me what I changed in the design while we flipped through. Being conversational fixed the boring ppt problem.

@tasneem67085807 @MaryamTabrizi6 @AllenSo50358275 @BrianCassell Hmm, you could perhaps make a collaborative Powerpoint with Google slides - share an empty slides file, give all the students access, and then let them edit it together to create their own slides, and then take it up together. What do you think?

@MaryamTabrizi6 I actually started teaching without using Powerpoint slides, mostly just writing on a whiteboard, and then switched to Powerpoint later because it seemed "better", and students said they understood my lectures better when I was just writing on the whiteboard. @BrianCassell

@MaryamTabrizi6 Nice to see this on Twitter! Like I said in the forum, great pacing and excellent use of narrative. Putting the narrative first would make the tips have more impact because then listeners will be more motivated to learn to do their Powerpoints better @BrianCassell

@troy_werrell @BrianCassell @JevPals @LPerron5 Thanks, Troy! I have done a couple of these now for other courses and it gets easier every time. I have the script on my laptop beside the camera and try to memorize short sections and then say them while looking at the camera and not messing up. Hah. What's your podcast/video?

Someone used Kahoot in my 3220 course and it was very fun. You could maybe get students to collaborate with Google docs or a project management tool as well. It's fun thinking of new ways to do things.

This story is a great illustration of how shifting to a more constructivist approach can be so much more effective. I've experienced something similar in teaching user experience design.

I used Adobe Premiere to make the video, Adobe Illustrator to make the graphics, and Quicktime to record videos of my screen looking at websites. And I shot it in my bathroom on my iPhone! There's good lighting in there. Haha.
