Russia’s public threats against our Baltic States are completely unacceptable.
Let there be no doubt.
A threat against one Member State is a threat against our entire Union.
Russia and Belarus bear direct responsibility for drones endangering the lives and security of people on our Eastern flank.
Europe will respond with unity and strength.
We will continue reinforcing the security of our Eastern flank with strong collective defence and preparedness at every level.
It's Europe Day!
Today, we celebrate all that Europe stands for.
And we celebrate all of us, the citizens of Europe.
Because all together, we are Europe.
Happy Europe Day!
Freedom of the press is one of the cornerstones of democracy.
And the EU protects what matters, including the right to receive independent, reliable information.
The European Media Freedom Act helps keep journalists and sources safe, strengthens editorial independence and protects media organisations from undue interference or legal intimidation.
Today, on World Press Freedom Day, we reaffirm our duty to support and protect journalists so they can do their work free from pressure, intimidation, or harm.
Today, the EU-Mercosur agreement begins to apply provisionally.
The benefits are real and visible as of now.
Tariffs start falling.
Companies are gaining access to new markets.
Investors have the predictability they need.
Provisional application will show the agreement’s tangible benefits.
And how legitimate sensivities have been adressed.
Giving @Europarl_EN and Member States the fullest evidence-based picture to carry out their democratic oversight.
Freedom of expression, academic freedom, and creative liberty should never be taken for granted.
It's a collective achievement, reflected in your everyday actions.
In the EU, you have the space to speak your mind without having to shrink who you are.
#ProtectWhatMatters🛡️🇪🇺
It began with coal and steel. But from the very start, our Union was always meant to be much more.
75 years ago, in Paris, with the signing of the Treaty of Paris, Europe chose a different path.
One of unity over division, of Peace over war.
The European Coal and Steel Community was never just an industrial project.
It was a project for peace in Europe.
A project for shared prosperity.
A project for strength and independence in a world of great power competition.
The very same purpose that still drives our Union today.

Hungary has returned to the very heart of Europe, where it has always belonged.
This is, above all, a moment for the Hungarian people. For their voice, their dignity, and their future in a safe, prosperous Hungary inside a strong Europe.
We discussed immediate priorities.
There is swift work to be done to restore, realign and reform.
Restore the rule of law.
Realign with our shared European values.
And reform, to unlock the opportunities offered by European investments.
Today, Europe is Hungarian.
We are stronger. More united.
To the people of Hungary - you've done it again.
You have spoken.
You have chosen Europe.
It's a victory for fundamental freedoms.
On competitiveness, what matters now is to move fast.
Building on today’s discussion,
the Commission will soon present its “One Europe, One Market” Roadmap.
Making Europe simpler and faster for people and businesses.
Removing barriers inside our Union, deepening the Single Market.
And getting things done.
The Roadmap will set out the key measures, with clear timelines for delivery by 2027.
Today, I hosted the first meeting of a special panel on child safety online.
For decades, we have made the real world safer for children and we must do the same in the digital world.
The positive opportunities that technology offers cannot come at the cost of their safety, health or happiness.
In Europe, tech platforms already have a responsibility to ensure the safety of users.
But we must also do more to protect and empower our young people online.
This is the aim of the special panel. We will work intensely with experts and stakeholders, including our youth, to forge a strong and realistic European approach to keep our children safe in the digital age.
By the summer, the special panel will publish its recommendations for further action.
