@catkinson80@UKLabour Here we go again; endless posts from Labour MPs spouting the exact same ‘benefits’ we should all be so grateful for. Do non of you question the lies you’re told? It makes you look stupid when you try to gaslight the country, I suggest you put more research into them.
@SkyNews Has this man forgotten Labour are in government and have been for over two years? No mention of the inept Reeves; typical Labour, always someone else’s fault.
@DailyTPodcast@CamillaTominey@bphillipsonMP Watching @bphillipsonMP still trying to defend her taxing of pupils with SEND is infuriating and this interview shows how little she ever understood the education sector. Truly awful woman.
@CutMyTaxUK Funny that’s he’s speaking out, could it be because the new property tax will affects him and his job. Labour believes everyone attending a private school is ‘rich’ and look how that new tax turned out.
It doesn't take a genius to work out that if you make something significantly more expensive, demand will fall.
That is what is happening in independent schools across the country.
At Drumduan School (now closed), the impact of VAT, the school says, led to an immediate 24% fall in its pupil roll.
Now look at our data on mainstream independent schools still open:
401 have lost 15%+ of their pupils
269 have lost 20%+
120 have lost 30%+
Add tax, pupils leave — or don't join in the first place. Income falls. Schools become unviable. They close.
There are more closures to come.
Stop the damage. Scrap VAT on education.
Tick tock @LucyMPowell@LauraTrottMP

Labour’s “real change” is closing schools & punishing parents for choosing education. At Labour Conference, they talks of ambition and investment. Meanwhile, their tax on education is delivering the opposite: damage. Make this conference useful by scrapping VAT on school fees.
