This happened while I was on holiday with minimal internet access, but now that I'm no longer speechless with pleasure: I could not imagine a more generous review or a better start to a holiday, and I'm so happy people enjoy reading my book!
There's still time to apply to come and study #English at @LeedsTrinity through clearing. It's an amazing team and a lovely community - just look at what our alumni have said about us under #LTUEnglishChangedMyLife
@Dori_Kiel Als vegetarisch noch eine ganz neue Idee war gab es an der Ruhr Uni in der Mensa manchmal einen Block Tofu mit weißer Sauce. Ich glaube ich weiß wo der Koch jetzt arbeitet...
@ViolaChasm I don't know how viable it is as a method, but I went though the indexes of similar books to see what keywords they used and then added any that I thought were missing
Warum?
If you're still looking for summer reading, may I recommend the best book on Virginia Woolf I've ever written? But never mind the content - it has such a lovely cover and colour scheme. I'm so thrilled that it has finally become reality!
@RohanMaitzen @EdinburghUP I wanted it to be the kind of book people enjoy reading on their sofa rather than at their desks, hopefully it lives up to that!
@ladysteptoe@EdinburghUP It's such a wonderfully intimate portrait! There's a passage in one of Woolf's letters from around that time that "knitting is the saving of life, Adrian has taken it up as well" which as a fellow knitter makes me quite happy...
@LitCamb I mostly follow Woolf's dismissed canon from AROO, because it actually maps out her own focus in her reviews and essays: Austen (as Victorian construct of the perfect woman writer), Mary Russell Mitford and EBB, Charlotte Brontë, George Eliot, and Mrs Ward and Margaret Oliphant!
It still feels surreal to say it, but my book is available for preorder!!! It's got lots of Woolf, biography and nineteenth century women writers and I loved writing it.

Better late than never... my article in this special issue is based on my MA thesis from a decade ago! If you'd like to read about how Braddon and Oliphant imagine the visual artist in their works, there's 50 free eprints available: https://t.co/dIWHh4HxSC
So pleased to announce that the #MEBraddon special issue I co-edited with @amb1860 is now out! Thank you to our wonderful contributors, peer reviewers and Women's Writing for bringing this to fruition https://t.co/CsnJB3P8qQ

@freya_cw Where do you have more reliable internet access? If that's not a concern, I enjoyed having my sister and supervisors there after mine for a mini celebration!
