June is Alzheimer's Awareness Month, and this one's important. Did you know genetics can play a role in your risk for Alzheimer's disease?
Learn what the science says, what symptoms to watch for, and how your DNA might be connected: https://t.co/fztMdbiNdy

Ancient DNA may have just revealed why autoimmune conditions are so common today, and it goes back to a survival trade-off made in the Bronze Age. Our DNA expert breaks it all down. Watch the video, then explore your own genetic story with 23andMe's Health Predisposition reports.

ICYMI: Our founder and CEO, @annewoj23 sat down with @bbgoriginals & @emilychangtv to share what's next for the 23andMe Research Institute now that we're a nonprofit. We're committed to advancing genomic science, protecting individual privacy, and building the world's most meaningful genetic research resource. Here are a few behind the scenes photos from the shoot.

Love being able to tell my story now and walk through the complexity of the last year and the emergence of 23andMe as a research institute that can help scientist’s everywhere make meaningful discoveries.
On The Circuit, 23andMe CEO @annewoj23 sits down with @EmilyChangTV to clear up the confusion once and for all, explaining why her family can't even reach a consensus on how to say their own name https://t.co/x3bJJAw7py
Polycystic ovary syndrome doesn't actually involve cysts. And that's before we even get to the testosterone. PCOS is being renamed PMOS, and the biology behind it will make your brain hurt (in the best way).

Thank you @Benioff for talking about Susan with such emotion. Thank you for being our friend, supporting her legacy and her wish to change the landscape for lung cancer. 1:14 https://t.co/4C9UOsORTf
Nice to be back out speaking about 23andMe and our evolution as a non profit focused in accelerating the benefit of human genetics. Thanks for having me!

Anne Wojicki (@annewoj23) has spent 20 years fighting for @23andMe and her vision. She almost lost the company, and it has re-emerged as a non-profit, purchased with her own money. We get to hear what has and hasn't changed in discussion with @matthewherper! #STATBreakthrough

It amazes me how ancient DNA analysis can connect living people to historical sites. A recent study from @23andMeResearch@Harvard@smithsonian has revealed that over 1.3M people are direct descendants of Maryland’s earliest 17th-century colonists.

Cool new paper by scientists from @23andme@smithsonian, and @harvard that combines genetic and genealogical info to propose identities for previously unknown individuals buried in St. Mary’s City https://t.co/m1DXwfa6Up
Carrying out Susan’s mission is an important initiative for our family. Susan was shocked when she learned she had lung cancer and even more surprised to learn that it’s the number one cancer killer.

Craig Venter always kept me on my toes. From the earliest days of @23andMe till conversations last month, he was full of excitement about the potential of understanding the human genome and the ways it would benefit society. What a legacy. 🧬🧬

This is a great first step for lung cancer. Lung cancer is the #1 cancer killer for women and we don’t have effective screening. The rise in women who never smoked also warrants more environmental research. @RepBrendanBoyle https://t.co/JyKvMgng21
By the way, I don't know of any great, easy-to-recommend D2C consumer genome sequencing service. Are there any good ones?
(We tried @DanteLabs, but never actually got the sequenced genome back, and never heard back from customer support. I encountered someone else who also had this experience with them. @smart_genome ended up working well, but I think they require going through a clinician.)
