🇸🇪⚡ Swedish proposal could ruin Russian summer
Migration Minister Johan Forssell (M) is now coming out with a Swedish initiative that could hit Russian tourists hard in the EU.

Last year, 477,878 Schengen visas were issued to Russian citizens.

Forssell: “It is completely unreasonable that Russian citizens are enjoying luxury holidays while Ukrainians are dying.”

Sweden wants EU countries to be able to deny visas based on nationality — something that is currently not allowed.

The proposal has the support of all Nordic countries, the Baltics, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic and Poland.

Why Sweden is pushing this:
– stop Russian luxury tourism
– reduce security threats and espionage
– close loopholes used by the Kremlin
– make a political mark during ongoing wars

Forssell: “We must put an end to Russian weekend trips around the Mediterranean.”

What is happening now:
The proposal is at the EU migration ministers’ meeting in Luxembourg.
If it goes through, Russian travel to the EU could be severely restricted — perhaps as early as this summer, depending on processing times.

In short:
Sweden wants to close the door to Russian tourism.
The question is whether the EU dares to take the step.

...What the hell is going on here? you might think. Evacuations take place every day across various Ukrainian cities. In some areas, the sheer number of russian drones makes it impossible to enter by car to rescue civilians. Yes… everything close at hand is used to help move people with limited mobility. In this case, a regular garden wheelbarrow, carrying an 85-year-old man, turned out to be incredibly useful.

Leaving their vehicles in relatively safe spots, the legendary "White Angels" evacuation units of the National Police of Ukraine head out on foot to reach the people. The streets of Druzhkivka are deserted, with the number of destroyed buildings growing by the day. russian drones buzz overhead constantly, forcing the teams to act with extreme speed and caution. You rarely see this kind of thing on TV in your country, and it certainly won’t make the front pages of the newspapers.

Nach einem geheimen Treffen mit Putin am 26. März 2026, bei dem Putin die Absicht verkündete, den Krieg gegen die Ukraine fortzusetzen, und von der Wirtschaft Hilfe forderte, fließen riesige Millionensummen in die Kriegsmaschinerie. Mehrere Milliardäre wie Suleiman Kerimov, Wladimir Potanin und Oleg Deripaska versprachen Putin im März, dem Staat finanziell unter die Arme zu greifen. Die Zahlungen erfolgen von Konten von Unternehmen und Fonds; die Oligarchen überweisen nicht den gesamten Betrag auf einmal, sondern jeweils mehrere Milliarden Rubel.

Bis Ende Mai 2026 flossen so bereits unfassbare 220 Milliarden Rubel an „Freiwilligenabgaben“ in den russischen Haushalt. Diese kriegsunterstützenden, unentgeltlichen Sonderzahlungen überstiegen die jährliche Prognose um das 130-Fache. Bis zum Jahresende werden rund 300 Milliarden Rubel im Haushalt erwartet, doch der genaue Betrag lässt sich nicht vorhersagen, da es sich um „freiwillige“ Zahlungen handelt.

Ein solcher informeller fiskalischer Mechanismus wie die unentgeltliche Zahlung ist aufgrund seiner Schnelligkeit und Flexibilität praktisch und erfordert keine Gesetzesänderungen. Die Überweisungen dienen als reiner Loyalitätstest für das Regime.

Ein Werk mitten in Irland steht somit in direkter Verbindung zu einem Mann, der durch Milliardenzahlungen an den Kreml die russische Kriegskasse stützt.
