Johann immediately wants to embrace his father before Anne has a chance to give Richard his present. “I think that’s his way of wishing you a happy day.” Anne chuckles and she puts the box holding his present on his desk for now.

Anne gently gives @HisMajestieRII a birthday kiss before she fetches Johann to give him his actual present.

“I know my dear. It is difficult to balance all the things you have to do. You will be first to know everything, I will make sure of it.”

Anne smiles and kisses his head. “I tell him at every opportunity how much we both love him.”

"Mm-mm", he agreed, vaguely shaking his head.

"Yes...I should carve out more time for him. I don't want to miss his early years."

“I will get him in a while. I don’t think we have any intention of letting go of each other any time soon.” She chuckles, loving his embrace.

“Johann should visit you more. He always surprises with something new or something he has learnt.”

"That's a fine idea." Richard clasps his hands around her waist.

"It feels like an age since I saw him last."

“All of it can wait. I would prefer to spend my time with you.” Anne happily holds him close to her. And she wasn’t going to let go any time soon.

“We have missed you too. He could have his rest with you. He always likes to see you and he usually rests better with one of us.”

"Good", he nodded, "If its nothing that cannot wait, I'd like you to."

He sits up and leans forward, resting his head on her shoulder.

"I've missed you. And little Johann."

She sits down with him, gently squeezing his hand as he takes it. “Take as long as you need my dear.”

Anne shakes her head. “One of the rare times where I have only a small amount of duties to attend to. And they could be rearranged should you wish for me to stay at any point .”

"Perfect", Richard grinned. "Certainly won't be today. Maybe not even tomorrow."

Putting the cup aside after a sip, he reaches for Anne's hand.

"What about you, are you busy?"

“They have. And the guards are under strict instruction to keep them away until you say otherwise.” She smiles back.

Gratefully takes the drink, smiling at the kiss.

“Excellent indeed”, Richard beamed. “He’ll be a fine scholar. Burley always said it was better to learn languages at a young age.”

@EpiphanyRebel already. He likes to learn things. And he has the family admiration for anything shiny." Anne laughs. "He has been picking up words in different languages as well."

@EpiphanyRebel Anne gently passed the Prince to him, who was happy to be in his arms.

This joyous little bundle had melted away all of Anne's fears and worries that she had for many years. All those criticisms and negative words were just the past now.

Johann brightly smilled at the Duke's response to his wave.

"Indeed, all who knew him then." Anne chuckles, kissing Johann's head. "He fills us all with joy as soon as we see him.

The little prince giggles happily, waving at him.

“Johann, malý princ.”She gets the attention of the small child in her native language before switching to English. “Come, there is someone who I would like you to meet.” She gently picks him up and walks -

“Indeed. He likes to point at things and ask about them if he isn’t sure. He knows numbers, letters and can ask me basic questions in my language. He knows a couple of words in french too.” She chuckles. “Which is excellent for his age.”

Richard laughed fondly. “He’s curious, that’s good. Is he learning your language?”

“He is very well and as sweet as ever. Learns quickly. Occasionally we have to hold his hand to stop him wandering off to see something that’s piqued his interest.” She chuckles. “His speech is getting better day by day.”
