The wind record continues to tumble 🌬️🌬️🌬️
For the 🌟first time in UK history🌟 we can confirm that wind has produced over 20GW of electricity!!!
We’re waiting on further data to confirm the final figure but it’s clear we have a new record
The invisible prejudice reinforcing class bias 👇With my definite Northern English/ Manx accentI once played down being a secondary headteacher to a group of people I didn’t know, explaining that I worked in a school. “Where? In the kitchens?” said one….. https://t.co/u78JaPZLdP

Laura Kuenssberg's now-weekly refrain as she interrupts Labour politicians: "we're running short of time". Who schedules the interviews? We had 30mins of Gove, 8 of Yvette Cooper
Just 7% of Brits are privately educated yet 43% of the 100 most influential news editors, 44% of newspaper columnists, 74% of senior judges, 59% of permanent secretaries in the civil service are privately educated. A two-tier education system creates a two-tier society.
One more piece of evidence on Brexit. Soon our political class will have to talk about this calamity. In democracy the truth eventually surfaces - and those who speak it reap rewards.
The cross-party Culture Committee on which I sit has published a report concluding that Nadine Dorries gave us wholly inaccurate evidence when she appeared before us as Culture Secretary. Misleading parliament is serious. I have sent our report to the parliamentary authorities.
When you hear Sunak and Co talk about social mobility and compassionate Conservatism take a look at this. Seven percent of the country use private schools. Two thirds of the Cabinet did. Sunak spends five times as much on his own kids’ education as his government does on the 93pc
🚨 A major result today: after my question at #PMQs, PM just committed to maintain ban on climate-wrecking #fracking. Rees-Mogg's dangerous, destructive & deeply unpopular plan to frack the nation is dead in the water - now we must ensure Govt sticks to its promise @GreenpeaceUK
Basically Sunak did a shameful, shabby, duplicitous deal with Braverman. He’d love us all to think he’s starting with a clean slate, but with all these disgraced retreads it’s clear nothing has changed. Johnson, Truss, Sunak all cut from precisely the same cloth.
So much for “leading with integrity and compassion”.
Braverman sacked for a security breach…dreams of planes to Rwanda…back at the heart of government.
Different face, different suit - same divisive and chaotic ideology.
At noon Rishi Sunak promised “integrity, professionalism & accountability”
At 5pm he made Suella Braverman Home Secretary, 1wk after she resigned for Ministerial Code breach/security lapse
He put party before country. Security is too important for this irresponsible Tory chaos
Rishi Sunak at lunchtime: "This government will have integrity, professionalism and accountability at every level"
Rishi Sunak in afternoon: *re-appoints Suella Braverman as Home Sec, after breaching official ministerial rules & "dreaming" of deporting asylum seekers to Rwanda*
Days after being sacked for breaches of Ministerial code, days after
‘Guardian-reading, tofu-eating, wokerati’ rant and days after ‘I dream of planes going to Rwanda’ Suella Braverman reappointed Home Secretary
By PM who said Govt would stand for integrity and professionalism
A few whispers of disquiet about the reshuffle already…
One Conservative source: “Not sure any of this is good politics! Bunch of all the old blokes together, bring in the woman fired last week and keep the girls waiting for the pretty fluffy jobs at the end.”
