@GraceREThomas I totally understand and for this reason, I always sit on the aisle seat so it can’t happen (obviously not when the seat is genuinely needed). You are definitely not alone in feeling uncomfortable!!

@MartinSLewis I always reserve a seat. If reservations are cancelled then they are cancelled. You can’t blame the person in your seat, only the train company. I use trains often and double booking occurs quite a lot. Frustrating. I wouldn’t give up my seat unless someone vulnerable needed it!!
