@LukeSmall88@DownloadFest We're not heading for the disabled car parks sadly. We have a Disabled Access pass for the West Car Park (there should be allocated spots) as we are staying in the Quiet Campsite. Really wishing that we were going to the disabled car park instead, though, right now...
@ofqual My nephew's school are still going forward with doing compulsory assessments/exams, that they are calling IFAs, under exam conditions in an examination hall, in 2 weeks! This seems to contradict all that I have read thus far from the OFQUAL guidance. Is this allowed?
@klsy_gam3r @PearsonEdexcel Oh my goodness, thank you for making me aware of this! I have just read the statement that Oxford AQA put out; it is beautifully written and focuses predominantly on what the majority of students, parents & teachers are calling out for. If only Pearson could do this too...
@PearsonEdexcel It's nice that Ofqual are allowing students and parents to have their say about GCSEs/A Levels. Shame @PearsonEdexcel are not doing the same regarding IGCSEs/International A Levels. So much for students being treated equally.
@stella2271@ClarkePrue @PearsonEdexcel Perhaps what should happen is that IGCSEs are cancelled for the majority (who will have had learning disrupted), therefore putting them on a level playing field with GCSE students, with the option of taking an exam given to those individuals who are unable to get teacher grades.
@Suf14n1 @PearsonEdexcel WJEC are beginning to cancel their Summer series also. My nephew's Creative IMedia has now been cancelled. However, my son still has to sit his IGCSEs, despite the fact that he's lost more school/teaching time (due to multiple Covid cases in his year group) than my nephew has.
@ClarkePrue@stella2271 @PearsonEdexcel ... Equal treatment for all. That is the only fair way of doing it. Anything else just puts IGCSE students and GCSE students on two completely different playing fields.
@Ash_l_y_n @Richa50224152 @ofqual ... Ergo, on that one day they are only being graded on their exam performance, not their overall knowledge/capabilities.
This is why I personally feel that all subjects should be 50% exam based and 50% coursework based. Not 100% exam based.
@Ash_l_y_n @Richa50224152 @ofqual That is where predicted grades become a more accurate assessment of a student's overall capabilities as, the reason why grade rise/fall on exam day is simply due to how well a student does under pressure in exam conditions. As well as how they're feeling on that one single day.
@randohumen @IdabohOluchi @MillieRitchie13 @teachBTEC @PearsonEdexcel I've seen that AQA survey; it's nice to know that at least one of the examination boards care what students and their families think. Shame @PearsonEdexcel doesn't.
@BBCNews https://t.co/g4PS2xWMsw
Regarding your news report on IGCSE exams still going ahead & your mention of the HMC welcoming the news: just so you know, most students & their families do NOT feel the same. Headteachers will NOT be the ones who are negatively impacted.
@PearsonEdexcel Please be aware that IGCSE & Int. A Level students are scared they are going to be competing for places at Uni/Sixth Forms with GCSE/A Level counterparts who WILL get higher TA grades. Please listen & treat them fairly. https://t.co/g4PS2xWMsw
@ofqual @PearsonEdexcel Any news on IGCSEs yet? These students are currently left in limbo not knowing if they are going to be treated exactly like the GCSE students (i.e. fairly) and get teacher assessments also.
@EdexcelStudents @ni__doll Problem is, there is no latest information. It has been days since you have updated your website. You are leaving students worried, anxious and in limbo. That is not okay. Please can we have some transparency in what is going on right now?
@PearsonEdexcel I have just had an email from my son's Examination Centre to let us know that they have spoken to Pearson Edexcel and that they have been informed that you have (awfully & unfairly) decided to go ahead and run the IGCSEs in June. Is this true?!!
@Netflixhelps Hi. Just wondering if you have any news yet as to what has happened to Wynonna Earp season 3 on Netflix? I have read lots of reports online that Netflix UK should have had it in September last year, yet it has not materialised on my account. Thank you.
